Yes - by all means, a tent on the floor is inviting more visitors!! I was insanely fastidious in keeping my tent absolutely sterile. A normal tent has fibers which will be home for the guys and if it's on the floor, you are increasing your infestation.it has to be plastic - it has to be totally elevated and separated from the environment. I think Doris used a tent on a bed frame. I wouldn't sleep directly on the floor if it were me. My husband has a tent, never used, because my idea of roughing it is at the Hilton, but he pulled out the tent, still in the box, and wanted to set it up in the family room, on the tile floor.
