Guest guest
Dear Gaurav, We really appreciate your links and advice. Thank you, From: gaurav2gupta <gaurav2gupta@...> bird mites Sent: Tuesday, May 1, 2012 3:23 PM Subject: AYURVEDIC OIL *** PLEASE READ *** Hi All,Sorry for the delay in sending this across. Below are the details of the Ayurvedic oil and the protocol. I have tried this and I am 80-90% better. This got the crawling and lesions under control, so much so that I am leading a normal life.As a side note, I would want to address anyone skeptical of this (since it is less known in the US) - Please do your research on Ayurveda. It is an extremely well-respected and popular branch of medicine. It is all herbal and has no side effects. The products below are manufactured by well-established, century old, billion dollar revenue pharmaceutical companies (see dabur.com or baidyanath.com). Having gone through the phase of not knowing what to do to cure this ailment, I would sincerely urge everyone to not dismiss this. I have tried most of the topical treatments mentioned here. This ayurvedic remedy is the most effective I have found till now. Here are the details - MAHAMARICHYADI OILAvailable online (directly from the manufacturer) at -http://www.allayurveda.com/shoppingcart/productsearch.asp?varpsearch=mahamarichyadi & varcategorysubcategoryid= & varcategoryid=Or from 3rd party - http://www.lovenaturalremedies.com/Baidyanath-Ltd/Remedies-for-Diseases/Psoriasis-and-eczema/Baidyanath-Mahamarichyadi-Tel.htmlHerbal capsules I take - * Neem - http://www.allayurveda.com/shoppingcart/productsearch.asp?varpsearch=neem%20capsulesGoogle it - neem capsules are available locally also* Sulfur extract (GANDHAK RASAYAN) - http://www.allayurveda.com/shoppingcart/productsearch.asp?varpsearch=gandhak%20rasayanhttp://www.ayurvedaforall.com/862/gandhak-rasayan.htmlProtocol - Below is the protocol to follow while using this oil. I have arrived at this after observing/trial-and-error for six months regarding what works and what does not. Each one of these is a make or break deal. So if you are using the oil make sure to follow each and every one of these to make it effective - * Apply the oil three times a day. I apply it on my face, eyebrows, feet, scalp and whereever I feel crawling sensation.* Use disposable vinyl/plastic gloves to apply oil, so they don't infect your palms/hands when applying on scalp. The sequence I follow is - apply on face, then eyebrows. Wash hands. Put on a glove. apply/massage on feet. Change glove. Apply on scalp and massage. Dispose gloves. Do not touch other things with your oily hands or gloves to avoid contaminating them. * I have emptied the oil in an empty (and washed) hand sanitizer bottle with a dropper/nozzle, and use the nozzle so I don't have touch the bottle with oily hands.* Be careful about cross contamination. Cross contamination is easy with oily hands, especially if you have touched your scalp.* Ears - I use cotton earbuds to apply the oil in my ears - it is safe. I have been doing it. Do not double dip the earbud in the oil to avoid contamination.* EyeBrows - Use vaseline on eyebrows at night before sleeping - after application of oil on eyebrows, on top of it apply vaseline petroleum jelly. Apply a lot. The idea is to suffocate them, so apply and leave a thick film (do not massage). Wipe off the area between your eyebrows and eyelids so the vaseline doesn't go in your eyes during the night.* Pillow - Use disposable plastic sheet (stretch wrap) to put on top of your pillow while sleeping. The mites infect the pillow very easily and you can't easily wash them. The pillow/pillowcase would also absorb much of the oil you applied to the scalp. I just stretch wrap the pillow and dispose off the wrap in the morning. Sleeping on the stretch wrap plastic is not too bad and you get used to it pretty soon.* Feet - Use a feet scrubber/callus removed and scrub every morning using the fine side, during showering. Use a stone scrubber (not metal one) since stone scrubber is finer.* Keep your finger/toe nails clipped.* For Men - Get a hair trimmer (I use http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004QWVY8A/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details) and keep your hairs at #3 of the trimmer settings. Trim it daily to keep them short. The shorter the hair, the better impact the oil has on reducing the mites in the scalp.* Men - Remain clean shaven - more effective that way when using the oil on face.* Ladies - Wash your hair daily to clear off previous day's oil from scalp. Use a dryer to dry your hair/scalp before applying the oil to the scalp.* Use Dettol soap for bathing. Dettol soap will be available at any Indian grocery store in US. Get the original/classic one, not the fragrance ones.* Laundry - I use borax and Dettol liquid in the laundry, soak it overnight (or for a few hours). I have a top loading washing machine, so that's easy. Ensure that borax and dettol mix well with water before putting in the clothes. Use hot water. Dettol liquid will also be available at Indian grocery stores. You need to put like two cap fulls in a laundry load.* Feet - Change socks daily and put used ones away for laundry.* In winters, change hat/beanie daily and put it away for laundry.* If your shoes feel infected, throw them. I throw my shoes every 3-4 months.* Keep your laundry in ziploc large bags.* Cover your laptop or computer's keyboard with stretch wrap plastic. The touchpad works just as effective with the stretch wrap on it. The reason is that if you use your laptop with your oily hands it can get mites stuck to it. By covering the keyboard with stretch wrap, you just have to change the plastic once in a while. You'll save having to throw away your laptop.* Do not wash your face/scalp in the night. I have observed that applying oil on top of the previous application is more effective than a fresh application everytime. However you have to shower in the morning (and wash your scalp) as this does not work across days.I really hope this helps many people here. It would be sad if people are still being tormented by this when a cure is out there, since I know how this crawling feels.RegardsGaurav

Guest guest
Thanks guarav... some very good suggestions. Where do you think you got infected? Some of us know where we got infected and others here do not. Also for pillows we can get plastic covers pretty inexpensively with a zipper. Pillow cases can be changed daily. I like the idea of covering the keyboard with plastic wrap. I think you could get used to typing on plastic and would keep keyboard from getting contaminated. BUT, I must say this, this I believe is an internal problem as much as it is an environmental problem. I don't know if the neem and sulpher extract would do as well as most antibiotics. I'm no expert so I hope it gets you to a point of more than 80-90% better. Let us know how it goes if you have time. From: "gaurav2gupta" <gaurav2gupta@...>bird mites Sent: Tuesday, May 1, 2012 12:23:05 PMSubject: AYURVEDIC OIL *** PLEASE READ *** Hi All,Sorry for the delay in sending this across. I have arrived at > this after observing/trial-and-error for six months regarding what works > and what does not. Each one of these is a make or break deal. So if you > are using the oil make sure to follow each and every one of these to > make it effective - > > * Apply the oil three times a day. I apply it on my face, eyebrows, > feet, scalp and whereever I feel crawling sensation. > * Use disposable vinyl/plastic gloves to apply oil, so they don't > infect your palms/hands when applying on scalp. The sequence I follow is > - apply on face, then eyebrows. Wash hands. Put on a glove. > apply/massage on feet. Change glove. Apply on scalp and massage. Dispose > gloves. Do not touch other things with your oily hands or gloves to > avoid contaminating them. > * I have emptied the oil in an empty (and washed) hand sanitizer bottle > with a dropper/nozzle, and use the nozzle so I don't have touch the > bottle with oily hands. > * Be careful about cross contamination. Cross contamination is easy with > oily hands, especially if you have touched your scalp. > * Ears - I use cotton earbuds to apply the oil in my ears - it is safe. > I have been doing it. Do not double dip the earbud in the oil to avoid > contamination. > * EyeBrows - Use vaseline on eyebrows at night before sleeping - after > application of oil on eyebrows, on top of it apply vaseline petroleum > jelly. Apply a lot. The idea is to suffocate them, so apply and leave a > thick film (do not massage). Wipe off the area between your eyebrows and > eyelids so the vaseline doesn't go in your eyes during the night. > * Pillow - Use disposable plastic sheet (stretch wrap) to put on top of > your pillow while sleeping. The mites infect the pillow very easily and > you can't easily wash them. The pillow/pillowcase would also absorb > much of the oil you applied to the scalp. I just stretch wrap the pillow > and dispose off the wrap in the morning. Sleeping on the stretch wrap > plastic is not too bad and you get used to it pretty soon. > * Feet - Use a feet scrubber/callus removed and scrub every morning > using the fine side, during showering. Use a stone scrubber (not metal > one) since stone scrubber is finer. > * Keep your finger/toe nails clipped. > * For Men - Get a hair trimmer (I use > http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004QWVY8A/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details > <http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004QWVY8A/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details> > ) and keep your hairs at #3 of the trimmer settings. Trim it daily to > keep them short. The shorter the hair, the better impact the oil has on > reducing the mites in the scalp. > * Men - Remain clean shaven - more effective that way when using the oil > on face. > * Ladies - Wash your hair daily to clear off previous day's oil from > scalp. Use a dryer to dry your hair/scalp before applying the oil to the > scalp. > * Use Dettol soap for bathing. Dettol soap will be available at any > Indian grocery store in US. Get the original/classic one, not the > fragrance ones. > * Laundry - I use borax and Dettol liquid in the laundry, soak it > overnight (or for a few hours). I have a top loading washing machine, so > that's easy. Ensure that borax and dettol mix well with water before > putting in the clothes. Use hot water. Dettol liquid will also be > available at Indian grocery stores. You need to put like two cap fulls > in a laundry load. > * Feet - Change socks daily and put used ones away for laundry. > * In winters, change hat/beanie daily and put it away for laundry. > * If your shoes feel infected, throw them. I throw my shoes every 3-4 > months. > * Keep your laundry in ziploc large bags. > * Cover your laptop or computer's keyboard with stretch wrap > plastic. The touchpad works just as effective with the stretch wrap on > it. The reason is that if you use your laptop with your oily hands it > can get mites stuck to it. By covering the keyboard with stretch wrap, > you just have to change the plastic once in a while. You'll save > having to throw away your laptop. > * Do not wash your face/scalp in the night.
