Woman killed because husband had AIDS:

[india News]: Bhubaneswar, Oct 26 : A woman in Orissa was allegedly

burnt to death by her in-laws because they feared that she had been

infected with the AIDS virus from her husband who passed away six

months ago.

Ostracised because her husband had AIDS, Pratima Biswal, 26, from a

village in Ganjam district had already been separated from her two

children by her husband's family.

Police officials said Pratima Biswal was found dead Monday morning

with burn injuries all over body.

Her brother Maheswar Biswal filed a complaint alleging that his

sister's in-laws had killed her.

Two members of the family of Pratima's husband have been detained by

police. It is not known whether Pratima was HIV positive or not,

officials said.
