Guest guest
Hi all, I have found worked in Afganistan and Iraq in Iso containers welded together which have worked very well. These have been supplied by the client, have a common hot water system, data cables, air con etc etc. These were supplied and maintained by the client. After a project is completed the cost of these is pretty much written off. The downfalls with such a unit as seen on this website would be the cost and logistics of getting this to a remote location, and having a handyman on site to maintain/repair it. Satelite comms can be very expensive, approximately 6000 sterling per month for the airtime for a basic 128k connection with call charges on top. When taking into consideration (in my opinion) what your client will provide and will maintain and considering the monthly costs to run such a unit, maintaining water etc and the initial outlay in comparison to what your client is prepared to pay, I think it would be cheaper to take facilities provided by the client where all considerations such as water, comms etc are all taken into consideration for you. Just my opinion. Can anyone on the group let us know if they have worked on a contract where the medical provider has had top supply their own sick bay/clinic. Ian.
