I totally and absolutely agree with what you said about doctors. I would have

assumed bird mites as well. If you did not capture specimens, they could have

always been mites and not fleas.

When I first started getting bit I too thought they were fleas, but then I found

the mites. And like you, I could tell the difference between a bite and a

sensation. I too got great big sores which are still with me and a little

purplish looking. Then like you, the bites got smaller, but somehow they seemed

to hurt more. But the bite marks became little pin prick size. I once got bit

and found a blackish thing attached to me leg. I didn't have my microscope at

the time or I would have examined it, but it did not look like a mite. Had

another blackish thing try to burrow into my little finger. I pulled it out in

pieces. It was not a mite. So to say that we need to know more...YOU BET. But

who will pick up this torch and carry it for us? Well, that is yet to be seen.

But as a community, we need to stand together. If we are survivors, then we

remember it. If we are living with it, then we should record it...somehow.

Anyway, that is my philosophy. But I am still at an arms distance.

After my Thursday appointment with my LLMD, I will be going back home unless he

tells me otherwise. My dog is going to the vet on Wednesday. She has an open

sore on her neck which was just fine, but now it has big black rings around it?

What that is I do not know, but I am going to get her tested for Bart and ask

that she be started on antibiotics.

Thanks for sharing your story. I am glad you are safe.
