true, my only bitch was I have

worked in the GOM for years and land and offshore, and

1 thing that is

required is a life pack 10-12 or something in that

order, and here in

the USA they are Lawsuit happy and if you are working

as a Paramedic

and

you under treat but not having the right equipment and

accepting this

you are taking responsibility for that and the burdon

is on the medics

shoulder, and I 100 percent agree the medics in the

GOM are underpaid I

was working for FMS at would be 133 British pounds a

day not much

considering the average is 250-300 in the GOM the mim

is 300 a day +

health benefits which you know is important here in

the USA I wish we

had a NHS but it don't look like it ever going to

happen, I just wanted

to make the point that if you are working as a medic

in the states and

you under treat the patient you will be liable not the

client for you

excepted the equipment that was given to you and also

a Doctor can file

a complaint to the local licensing board for what

state you are a medic in

in and they can also take action on your license

And with the Apple and oranges thing , Agree and dis

agree , when I was working the North Sea for Comex and

Stolt as a Sat diver the Rate was 550 a day no matter

what part of the world you might travel to next it was

a standard for divers just like depth pay and the

diving supervisor get paid the deepest dive of the

day, and yes thing are cheaper here in the the USA but

guess what is not going to see your local GP now lets

talk about the difference I can tell you the average

GP visit without insurance is around 120 USD and to

buy your own insurance it runs around 500USD for 1

person try putting your family on that and I don't

want to guess how much they would take you for.

I agree the UK has a better system but now all the big

players like BP Chevron etc require the offshore

survival ticket and offshore Medcial cert and another

little item they have dropped in form the dept of

homeland security the safe gulf card as they call it I

call it a USA ID card you show it and it gets scanned

when you go out and when you come in and I have seen

guys arrested right there at the docks or heliports

for lack of child support warrant for other thing oh

yes they run the checks on you with this card the

former inmate had not seen there parole officer guess

what the handcuffs are on, and now of day all the

company's are doing background checks on employees and

if you have Any type of serious crime assault to

murder that's you hit the road, but I am not arguing

your point you do have a great system, and you ask why

I think I want UK money well I own a home in the UK I

pay counsel tax on my home my wife is from the UK I

hold a NI number, that's why
