Prophylactic use of metronidazole in patient with a consistent history of repeated dry sockets following extraction is also contentious since many believe the problem is more vascular then infective.

Could you plz shadow light to which patients we give metronidazole as prophylaxis to reduce incidence of dry socket ?

According to pink book page 371 and cowson for oral medicine that treatment is only irrigation , dressing and analgesia.
