Hi,

Elective RCT can be done for asethetic reasons, as a part of bridge design

etc... For example if a grossly rotated anterior tooth is to be treated without

orthodontics (assuming there is enough space of course), then an RCT will have

to be done on the tooth before it can be crowned to change its shape. Or a supra

erupted tooth interfering with bridge design on the opposing arch.

Orthograde RCT is the conventional RCT that we talk of every day. Its called

'orthograde' as opposed to 'Retrograde RCt' which means 'from the back' or the

root end. Ortho means straight or from the crown end.

Hi Safa,

Thanks for you kind words. You are most welcome. In General,the terms periapical

and periradicular are used interchangeably, so they should mean the same thing

but I am not 100% sure.
