the cause of missing upper central incisors can be

MISSING : congenitally missing (usually accompanied by othe missing teeth in mouth), avulsed, extracted

PRESENT BUT UNERUPTED : ectopic position of tooth germ, dilaceration due to trauma, scar tissue, supernumerary teeth, crowding, pathology eg cyst, odontogenic tumor etc.

But the most common cause is SUPERNUMERARY TOOTH with an incidence of 1-3% in premaxilla as mentioned by LYUDMYLA.

regards

jasmine.

this is a very popular questions in the ore exam though not sure about the answer yet: reason behind the missing of central incisors ;as far as i know the answer is dilaceration however need your backup.
