That's excellent sajitha.Thank you very much.I have been trying to find this one. Thanks & Regards,Padma From: Sajithakumari Sivaprem <ssajithakumari@...> " " < > Sent: Sunday, 26 February 2012, 20:40 Subject: FLUORIDE CALCULATION

Hi Ebtisam, 1mg/ml=1000ppm=1g/1000ml 1g/100ml=1% solution =10000ppm

so to convert 0.023% F=230PPM How we calculate fluoride in o.o5Na F

The molecular wt of Na is23 and fluorine is19 so the total molecular wtis23+19=42 19/42=0.45 ie45% ,fluoride ions in 0.05%Na F 0.2%NaF =0.45X0.2=.090%F=900PPM SO WE WANT TO REMEMBER THESE VALUES FOR DIFFT

PREPARATIONS NaF=45% SnF2=24% APF=100% MFP(SODIUM MONO FLOURO PHOSPHATE paste)=14%( GOOGLE) 1mg/gm of paste=1000ppmI think this will suffice for the exam purpose
