Guest guest Posted March 14, 2002 Report Share Posted March 14, 2002 from Dale, Mom to Katy, CVID, age 17 , the way I understand it is that IgM is a precursor for both IgG and IgA -- meaning that IgM becomes either IgG or IgA depending on which the body needs worse -- so it stands to reason that his IgM would be low since his IgG is deficient. I think the only problem that I've heard about with IgM is if it is too high. Katy's IgM is 13 right now - and there's really nothing that can be done about it, except boost her IgG. Hope that helps.
