Guest guest
This makes me sick at my stomach. What is WRONG with these people? ne ----Original Message Follows---- From: TABco <tabco@...> Reply-egroups (Recipient list suppressed) Subject: Important Date: Wed, 16 Aug 2000 18:53:30 -0400 Hello, I received the following from a veterinarian friend. Please take the time to read it. Begin Text: " I wanted to share something that happened today while shopping at Sam's club. A mother was leaning over looking for meat and turned around to find her four year old daughter was missing. I was standing there, right beside her. Well, she was calling her daughter and no luck. I asked a man who worked at Sam's to announce it over the loudspeaker for . He did, and let me say he walked right past me when I asked, went straight to a pole where there was a phone and made his announcement right there! He ordered for all doors and gates to be locked, a " code something, " So they locked all the doors at once. This took all of 3 minutes after I asked the guy to do this. They found the little girl 5 minutes later, crunched in a bathroom stall, her head was half shaved, and she was dressed in her underwear with a bag of clothes, a razor, and a wig sitting on the floor beside her. Whoever this person was, took the little girl, brought her into the bathroom, shaved half her head, and undressed her in a matter of less than 10 minutes. They were going to remove the girl from the store unrecognized. This makes me shake to no end. Please keep an eye out for your kids when in shopping places. It took only a few minutes to do all of this. Another 5 minutes and she would have been out the door...I am still in shock that some sick person could do this, let alone in a matter of minutes. The little girl is fine. Thank God for fast workers who didn't take any chances. Thanks for reading this. By the way, just in case you didn't know ... the " code-something " that the woman in this story heard the clerk talking about is " CODE ADAM " ....This was put into place after a real child Adam Walsh, was abducted and murdered from a department store many years ago. His father, Walsh, fought for " CODE ADAM " to be implemented in all stores and public places...although, sadly not ALL use it! Wal-Mart was one of the very first to voluntarily implement the " code " system. Walsh is the creator and host of " America's Most Wanted " ....this, he does in the hopes of saving any children (and Adults) that he can by getting fugitives off the streets....this, he does because he couldn't save his own child, but has saved God knows how many children from being carried away from their parents by some sick pervert and murderer! Thank you, Walsh....and thank YOU for caring. This was a broadcast mailing and got the following addendum: " I'd like to add something to this e-mail. While shopping at Wal-Mart one day, I heard the " Code Adam " and immediately the store clerks stopped what they were doing and walked the isles. I asked the employee what was going on and she explained it to me. About a month later, while shopping again, a mother in the children's department came up to me and asked me if I had seen a three year old little girl. I said " no ma'am " ...and then I remembered Code Adam! I said " Ma'am, you must go right over there to the dressing rooms and the employees will help you " . She did and immediately " Code Adam " was announced and the doors were locked until the little girl was found. This may never happen to you personally with your child or grandchild but you never know when you may run into someone who doesn't know about this Code and has a lost child in a store. " Nowadays...we can't be too careful! ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com

Guest guest
That gave me goosebumps. I was four when a few ppl tried to take me. I was very aware on what was going on. I knew that these ppl would hurt me. most of my childhood I lived with fear. I always thought they would come back. One time I was shopping with my sister in the mall. You all know how big malls are. Her three year old boy was with us. I left to go look at something and when i came back he was gone and she never noticed. We told someone and they did not call any CODE ADAM, but within a minute they had sercurity guards in even store and by every door. He was gone for twenty minutes. They put it on the speaker and some nice older lady found him and took him to some of the secruity guards. It is so frightening when you experience that. I gave my sister hell. I was still screaming at her when she started crying. She could not even tell me about how long he was gone. She was too busy shopping for herself. He is four now, and I do not turn my back for a second. I am blunt with him and I tell him who a stranger is, and what a stranger can do. He asks questions sometimes, and I tell him the truth. If my mother did not do that to me, I would not be here now. I would of let those ppl take me. Parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, sisters, brothers, everyone should let a child know that a stranger could hurt them. love, leigh --- TABco <tabco@...> wrote: > Hello, > I received the following from a veterinarian friend. > Please take the time > to read it. > > > Begin Text: > > " I wanted to share something that happened today > while shopping at > Sam's club. Guest guest
, Check your urban legend sites again. This story, too, is a hoax. While I firmly believe in the MESSAGE behind the story, it is not a true tale. :-) TABco wrote: > Hello, > I received the following from a veterinarian friend. Guest guest
That Sucks...good luck Rose Important Hi everyone, Please read the following notice. Anyone in the Philadelphia area interested in attending the rally should contact me. We are trying to make transportation arrangements. Please forward this email to anyone or list who may benefit from the information. PACK YOUR BAGS, KIDS --SAY GOODBYE TO WRAPAROUND Never mind income level, diagnosis or severity of need, the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare (DPW) may say goodbye to kids with autism, mental retardation, ADHD, cerebral palsy and other behavioral health needs. Without legislative action or a governor’s signature, a few computer keystrokes could eliminate TSS, Behavioral Specialist and other wraparound services, which keep kids in their communities and out of institutions. The bureaucratic definitions which guide who gets these services are being changed. And if your child has any of the above needs, wraparound days are numbered. Saying goodbye to wraparound for these kids is like telling them to pack their bags and get out because these children can’t get services anywhere else: Þ Commercial insurance says, " not covered " Þ Waiver systems for the mentally retarded say " wait " Þ Autism, Cerebral Palsy, and other disability systems say " move out " because these departments exist in almost every other state, but not in Pennsylvania WHAT YOU CAN DO: ¨ Attend the April 9 " Pack Your Bags, Kids " Rally in burg Capital Rotunda at 2:30 p.m. Buses will be provided in the Philadelphia area. To reserve a place on a bus near Philadelphia and suburbs, please e-mail April9Rally@.... To inquire about buses in the Pittsburgh area e-mail info@... or Aboard2@.... (Children are welcome.) ¨ In keeping with our theme, bring a suitcase with your child’s name in large letters on the side. ¨ Wear a picture of your child on your lapel or shirt. ¨ If you wish to have your child’s picture used to help the advocacy cause, please e-mail a picture to Lion_Jim_O’Brien@... ¨ Visit the Legislative Contact Table at the Rally on April 9 for information on finding your legislators and educating them. ¨ Connect with various disability support groups Handing our kids a suitcase is NOT the answer!
