Hi there,Q.96 > 96.RADIOGRAPHY- WHICH STAGE EARLY MIXED

DENTITION,AGE OF PT ( its regarding xray but i find this info good to memorize)

Reference: Orthodontics: Principles and Practice By Basavaraj Subhashchandra Phulari (page 70-72

)

Mixed dentition can be divided into the

following phases:

·

Early/1st transitional period·

Inter-transitional period·

Late/2nd

transitional period

Early/1st

transitional period (6-8) years:

Replacement of primary incisors by their successors

and addition of four first permanent molars

Inter-transitional Period:

After First permanent molars and Incisors

have establish occlusion, there is interim period of 1-2 years before

commencement of second transitional period in which little changes in occlusion

is seen. This phase is stable with little changes taking place.

Late/2nd

transitional period:

Replacement of primary molars and primary

canines by permanent premolar and permanent canines respectively the emergence

of second permanent molars. Exfoliation of primary canine at the age of 10

years of age usually makes the beginning of second transitional phase.

Mandibular

canines erupt following the eruption of incisors at age of 10 years, while

maxillary canines usually erupts after the eruption of one or both premolars,

at age of 11-13 years-- any correction if appreciated :)Thanks for your Time!Best regards,________________________________________Asima Kamran email:    draasima@...
