According to scully, prilocaine with felypressin is contraindicated in cardiac patient.Though this is given to ischemic heart disease patients.(according to masters) but its written no evidence weather it is safer or nt.so i guess plain prilocaine should be given or mepivacaine without adrenaline. HI . BUT LIDOCAIN IS ANTIARRITHMIC DRUG. Lidocaine is also the most important class 1B antiarrhythmic drug: it is used intravenously for the treatment of ventricular arrhythmias (for acute myocardial infarction, digitalis poisoning, cardioversion or cardiac catheterization).WIKI From: ebtessam elhamalawy <ebtessamhamalawy@...> " " < > Sent: Wednesday, 7 March 2012, 17:29 Subject: Re: LA in cardiac arrhythmia patient ???Lignocaine v/s prilocaine

Hi

Yes even I thought answer should be lidocaine but scully and BNF says

Mepivacaine and Prilocaine so I think we should stick with the book....maybe as

LA lidocaine is not used as antiarrhthymic ..and is incorporated in drugs for

it???
