Q Better restoration material for class V in Sjogren syndrome – resin modified GI / or plain gic this question has been asked before ,many times.. and most of us answered resin modified GIC. can any one kindly explain why resin modified ?

whats the advantage here? why mot plain GIC ? regardsdivi

class v cavities are not weight bearing areas and plain GIC also adhere by chemical bonding so i was wondering why we need a resin modified GIC there, but as you mentioned its fracture toughness is better and it adheres far better than conventional GIC , so yes i think we will prefer resin modified GIC for class v too. Thanks Kanika. good question divi,,

many thanx arthur for your answers.

Infact, i totally agree with you, but , there is a new evidence states that composite is now prefered more than the normal GIC especially in non- carious cervical lesions though! reasons are ; excellent esthetic properties & good clinical performance.
