It is OHI, Oxygenating mouthrinses and ultrasonic scaling. And it will suffice in most cases. However metronidazole can be given if mechanical therapy is too painful for the patient or if there is systemic involvement. And NUG is caused by a number of microorganisms(primarily spirochaetes) which do not include Aa. Aa is involved in periodontitis only. What is the first line of tt in NUG.....some books say first OHI n systemic metronidazole in severe ONLY.Others recommend both as RSI may not eradicate Aa
