ACCORDING TO THE LAST EDITION OF ODELL

IT IS STATES THAT:

CURRENT RECOMMENDATION ARE EXPRESSED IN THE FORM OF THE MAXIMUM SAFE DOSE PER BODY WEIGHT GIVEN OVER A PERIOD OF 1 H. THUS THE MAXIMUM RECOMMENDED DOSES ARE SHOWN IN THE TABLE:

LIDOCAINE AND MEPIVICAIN: 4.4 mg/kg 2% use 6 and a half cartilage

3% use 4 and a half 2.2 ml cartilage

2.prilocain: 6mg/kg for 3% use 6 2.2 cartilage,

4% 4 and a half ml cartilage

3. articain: 7mg/kg 4%, ( 5 and a half fro a 2.2 ml cartilage)

THESE LIMITS APPLY TO ALL PREPARATIONS OF LOCAL ANESTHESIA IRRESEPECTIVE OF THE PRESCENCE OF OR THE TYPE OF VASOCONSTRICTORN. IT IS NO LONGER CONSIDERED THAT LARGER DOSES CAN BE GIVEN IN A TREATMENT SESSION IF THE PREPARATION CONTAINS VASOCONTRICTION.

IN MY OPINION: THE METHOD OF CALCULATION IS THE SAME THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THAT WE WILL FOLLOW THE DOSES IN THE SCHEDUAL.

I KNOW that this is diffrent from the one offered in scully but considereing that both the editions are 2010 we will have to confirm with a recent guidlines.

HI KANIKAIT was n`t mentioned , but since they already said that it will n`t matter whether there is a vasoconstirctor .I believe that these are the ones without a vasoconstrictor and they should as well apply to cartiladge with a different types of VC.EBTISAM From: Kanika Kohli
