Though i think the same but what actually going in my mind is tuberculosis can never be the answer as posterior tongue is the main site for oral lesions.Regarding Erythema multiforme it is also triggered by herpetic infections and males are more affected and shows symptoms of lip lesions so why not EM.but second part of the question describes that partner has the same problem means a disease which is contagious and Erythema multiforme is never contagious.so answer has to be herpes.
