Guest guest
Hello Ricky and , got a mail from Interdive in Plymouth, saying that my certificates and EU exams are conform to their requirements, and they are keen to see me on their lists...without registration as a RN. If I once have my medic and BOSIET, will anybody ask me if I am registered at NMC?? have a good night and best regards Dieter [Remotemedics. co.uk] Registration at NMC UK > > > > > > Hi Friends > > I'm Dieter from germany with 14 years experiances as a nurse. Guest guest
Dieter, A word of caution. Of course Interdive would be happy to take you on the Offshore medics course without NMC registration. At the end of the day the HSE guidance for training providers is just that guidance, its not a firm rule. Therefore Interdive as they have proved in the past are not to choosy who they take on the course so long as they get your money. The issue may or may not come when you start looking for work, particularly if you are thinking of the North Sea. I doubt anyone will ask for NMC registration, but depending on where you want to work you may still struggle. There have been historical incidences of people signing up for the course with interdive, with questionable suitability (not that I'm implying you are) only to find that they find gaining employment following the course difficult. One though, have you considered the dutch sector of the North Sea rather than the UK sector ? You wouldn't need the UK offshore medics cert and you'd be able to build some experience and if I remember you're a native Dutch speaker ?? Just a couple of thoughts, Cheers for now Ian On 12/06/2008, Dieter Rappen <dieter.rappen@...> wrote: > > Hello Ricky and , > > got a mail from Interdive in Plymouth, saying that my certificates and EU > exams are > conform to their requirements, and they are keen to see me on their > lists...without > registration as a RN. Guest guest
Ian, thanks for this open advice! Yes, I am a native dutch with german nationality and up to now, I found, that the britisch standard of medic courses appeared more effective (!) Did I understand you well, there are some gloomy differences between those who offer medic courses...?! I recognized only a wide range off fees... But, as I assume it depends on the people who apply for the course and with what kind of history (CV) they come with? By the way, do you know companies in Holland who run medic courses? Believe me or not, I could not find sites to get any good informations from the dutch and their pre / requirements. One thing is good, means I am not in hurry, so if I got my tickets up to june next year either in UK or Holland, it will be fine. So I'm still on the track and I recognized that there are different alternatives the to punch the ball :-) Best regards Dieter [Remotemedics. co.uk] Registration at NMC UK > > > > > > > > > Hi Friends > > > I'm Dieter from germany with 14 years experiances as a nurse. > Want to > > > get the essential tickets for offshore work. Guest guest
Hi Dieter, Yes there most certainly is a difference between the training providers. Both in the way they interprest the guidance on who is eligable to partake of the course and also in the delivery of the content. Not to mention the obvious differences in prices. In terms of the Dutch sector, someone working up there may be able to correct me if I'm wrong but its my understanding the default qual they look for is registered nurse. I don't think the UK HSE medics course features in Ducth offshore legislation. What I was suggesting was try and pick up something in the Dutch sector based on your nursing qual and give it a trial to see if its for you before you go laying out for you UK medics ticket.... Just a thought, Rgs On 12/06/2008, Dieter Rappen <dieter.rappen@...> wrote: > > Ian, > thanks for this open advice!
