Dear Golden Shower person,

First of all it is true that many people urinate in the shower, mainly from;

A/ the pschological stimulus from the sound running water -

B/ the warm water causing pleasurable relaxation of certain muscles -

C/ laziness in not pointing the organ in question out of the shower and into the

toilet which is generally located adjacent to the shower and -

D/ the infantile naughtness of having a pee over ones toes in the shower.

Secondly those of us who have read Ernest Hemmingway's books on the Spanish

Civil War

will recall that wounds were frequently treated by having young boys urinate

over them for the antiseptic qualities...being Catholic they did not require the

urine of young girls....those of us who have not read his books may now be

interested in doing so, which indicates that peeing over one's toes can lead to

matters on a higher level.

The value of preventive fungal care is questionable as I have not got a fungal

foot infection and do not pee over my feet...however those of us who do pee over

their feet may also claim they do not have fungal foot infections....

Perhaps dear Wilf you could get a government grant to do a study into this GS

question.

Query:

Preamble: Ok YES this could be considered a rather odd topic and I did try to

google first AND I would highly suggest that no one does use the word " urine and

shower " in a google search, just in passing and for good reason. Yikes.

I was informed one day many years ago (name left out to protect the innocent ex

Brit military type ) that one should urinate on ones feet while showering. Yes,

I know it does seem an odd question but here is what got me thinking ... I did

read somewhere in mens health magazine or soldier of fortune ... I can't exactly

recall, but it got me pondering that the salinity and the PH of urine actually

could discourage fungal growth ... so it does make for some logical rationalle

and in this recent artical it stated statistically over 80% of people actually

do urinate in a shower .... well me being a the conformist I of course, well, no

picture painting intended NOR POLL is suggested, thank you one and all in

advance.

Any thoughts on this is it myth or could it have some science behind it ? The

peviso being if one does not have some type form of UTI to begin with and urine

is sterile in most cases. Some topical ointments have UREA in them and Birth

Control pills are made from pregnant mares urine from horses, just one of those

things that just popped into my head, and most sincere apologies in advance to

the sensitive types.

I am aware of the current medical treatments for foot fungus .... so thanks.

cheers
