Guest guest
Hello all, I noticed recently that Maersk have as a requirement that their applicants must have IRHC voluntary registration. The IRHC states on their website they have a registration committee and applicants will be assessed. Does anyone know what the assessment criteria is? Are they simply adopting the HSE guidelines as their criteria and we now have to pay 180GBP for the process. Or Do they have their own selection criteria based on the registration committee opinion? I think a professional body is a good idea and I like the many of the ideas from the IRHC however but I am concerned where this is going. Thie registration process is not transparent and I think it should be. Keeping in mind many of us already have professional registration I hope the selection criteria is actually tightened and training providers and those they train are more closely monitored. Worst case scenario is nothing changes, any tom, dick or harry pay their medics course fees and get the all important piece of paper but we all have to pay an extra 180 GBP per year on top of professional body registration, union fees and CPD. kindest regards Grant
