Guest guest
Hi Divi,If wikipedia is contradicting about the same thing, then one thing has to be incorrect here. RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS IS NOT TYPE IV. I have tried to explain below as well, RA is not cell mediated, it is an immune complex disease. However if you're still confused check this out, i have taken this from the wikipedia references section of type IV hypersensititvity page. Even that includes RA in type III. I'm trying to find some other authentic source as well. When i find it, i'll let you know. Hope it helps.Regards, sid[hide]v t eImmune disorders: hypersensitivity and autoimmune diseases (279.5–6)Type I/allergy/atopy(IgE)ForeignAtopic dermatitis · Allergic urticaria · Hay fever · Allergic asthma · Anaphylaxis · Food allergy (Milk, Egg, Peanut, Tree nut, Seafood, Soy, Wheat), Penicillin allergyAutoimmunenoneType II/ADCC(IgM, IgG)ForeignPernicious anemia · Hemolytic disease of the newbornAutoimmuneCytotoxicAutoimmune hemolytic anemia · Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura · Bullous pemphigoid · Pemphigus vulgaris · Rheumatic fever · Goodpasture's syndrome"Type 5"/receptorGraves' disease · Myasthenia gravisType III(Immune complex)ForeignHenoch–Schönlein purpura · Hypersensitivity vasculitis · Reactive arthritis · Farmer's lung · Post-streptococcal glomerulonephritis · Serum sickness · Arthus reactionAutoimmuneSystemic lupus erythematosus · Subacute bacterial endocarditis · Rheumatoid arthritisType IV/cell-mediated(T-cells)ForeignAllergic contact dermatitis · Mantoux testAutoimmuneDiabetes mellitus type 1 · Hashimoto's thyroiditis · Guillain–Barré syndrome · Multiple sclerosis · Coeliac disease · Giant-cell arteritisGVHDTransfusion-associated graft versus host diseaseUnknown/multipleForeignHypersensitivity pneumonitis (Allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis) · Transplant rejection · Latex allergy (I+IV)AutoimmuneSjögren's syndrome · Autoimmune hepatitis · Autoimmune polyendocrine syndrome (APS1, APS2) · Autoimmune adrenalitis · Systemic autoimmune diseaseM: LMCcell/phys/auag/auab/comp, igrcimdf/ipig/hyps/tumrproc, drug(L3/4) From: divi_ore@...Date: Tue, 20 Mar 2012 03:51:55 +0800Subject: Re: Hypersensitivity qt Dear sidrah and Kanika ,can u please help , its still unclear to me. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypersensitivity this says Rheumatoid artheritis is type IIIwhereas http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Type_IV_h/////*** this says its type IV .
