Guest guest
Hi kanika, for Q 1 I agree with you...Q 2 , i think its because ... tooth is vital and i remember i read in my uni. days that mostly apical 3rd of root canal are free of bacteria . so i feel in this case with vital pulpotomy ( and we know that tooth is vital ) remove superficial infected tissue and maintain apical vital tissue. other advantage is its single sitting procedure... good for children. Guest guest
Thanks for this q kanikaAs sajitha said according to Pink book page 91,I'm writing as its thereAttempting to retain the vitality of coronal pulp in primary molars is not recommended becausePulp involvement is more likely It's difficult to accurately determine the likely condition of the pulpCalcium hydroxide frequently lead to internal resorption ThereforeDirect pulp capping is only advisable for small traumatic exposuresPulpotomy remains the treatment of choice for primary molars BalsamSent from my iPadOn 27 Mar 2012, at 15:17, ebtessam elhamalawy <ebtessamhamalawy@...> wrote: well u can simply restore if its a reversible pulpitis but in peds that`s not commondue to the tooth morphology ( large pulp prominent pulp horns and thin enamel)but ur right we can do a simple restoration if the pulp is not affected From: Kanika Kohli <kanika_sahil@...> " " < > Sent: Tuesday, 27 March 2012, 15:11 Subject: Re: regarding pedo Hi ebtessamThis is what i wrote in my first mail as it is throbbing we should go for pulpotomy.what i want to know is ,for vital pulp as we go for pulpotomy,do we need to go for pulpotomy in every clinical scenario or we can work with just restoration.
