Just an excerpt from wikipedia to confirm the same---Approximately 70% of saliva in the oral cavity is produced by the submandibular glands, even though they are much smaller than the parotid glands !!! Guest guest Posted March 24, 2012 Report Share Posted March 24, 2012 Note that there's a difference between production of salivary glands in the stimulated and rest states.In the stimulated state,the parotid gland produces about 65% or thereabouts of total saliva.I'm writing from residual knowledge but check the pink/blue books for confirmation.
