I think you are the only one so far that I've read about that has the late afternoon/evening rash and fever. It seems like most Stills people have the rash and fever all day and night. But, then again, we are all so different in our symptoms and treatments. The worse for me was the night sweats........ ( Carmen>> Dear Carmen, When I finally got an appointment late enough for my RD to see the rash and I told him that it was like " my arthritis has a clock on it. " He looked at me with excitment and said, " It's Still's! You have Still's disease! " Then he rushed out of the room to get one of his associates so he could " show off " his Still's patient. LOL. Mine is one of the best docs in town, but he had only seen one other case in his lifetime, I think. His associate wasn't nearly as impressed and excited as my doc, but it was good to know what I had, and that the " clock " part of it was actually diagnostic of the disease -- I wasn't just a hypochondriac after all! Guest guest
I just can't believe that you have to find another school for CB. His behavior doesn't sound that challenging to me. How will CB adjust to the change? Poor guy; so many big changes going on in his life. He is learning mighty early how unfair life can be. The timing idea is a good one. Guest guest
I don't know anything about CA so these could be far from you, but some sites for schools I found. HTH, Amnesty http://www.aes-schools.org/ http://www.devereux.org/site/PageServer http://orionacademy.org/default.aspx > Here's how the school disciplines with timing. Lets say CB is playing with > his cars and its time for dinner. I will ask him to put the cars away, he says > no or ignores me . The next step is to say CB you can play for 2 more minutes > then put your cars away. Set an egg timer for 2 minutes, at the end of that > time ( alarm goes off ) CB will without any trouble , comply completely. That > also goes for stuff that is difficult, say for example coming in the house > because its cold and dark or homework. It really works for CB like magic. Im > learning alot of great things. > Yesterday however the school shrink told me that the school is " done " with > CB. Yes, his behaviors are almost gone. He had 1 meltdown during OT, pulled > his aides hair. The rest of the day went smooth as silk. I have no idea where > we will find a school with CB's current " record " . If I have to home school at > least I got some great tools. Anybody know a school in the Los Angeles area > that would be willing to give CB a try ? The socialization is really critical > for him. > > CB's Granny
Guest guest
Thre school is 'done' with him? Why, since he has been improving and doing better? Are they afraid of him?
