Hi . I just finished reading " Breaking the Viscious Cycle. " by Elaineg

Gottschall. It is all about Celiac/coeliac disease, and IBS and Crohn's, etc.

And it talks about the Specific Carbohydrate Diet and how if you do it for a

year you can go back to eating normally. I just started it. You can find

the book on the web. There is also a web site. www.scdiet.com I think that is

correct. if not, just do a web search on specific carbohydrate diet and you

will find it. It will also lead you to another list that has recipe's.

Personally, many of the recipes for " breads " have way too many nuts and too much

honey for me, so I will be passing on that, but for the most part, I don't think

it is horrifically hard to do. Not when it can give you back a healthy

digestive system. So I am going to tough it out for a year and then eat a

muffin. Smile.

There is also a group that discusses the diet. healingcrow. This is

their home page

Coeliac disease

Does anyone have any information about this syndrome - have a 14yo student who

has been 'diagnosed' with this, and I am wondering whether there exists any way

of reversing situation.

Dear ,

Celiac disease is sensitivity of the small intestine to the gluten

in wheat, oats, barley, and rye.

I have celiac disease and I reversed it with Bicom treatments.

Bicom is like Voll vega testing, with the added treatment aspect.

It sends an electric wave pulse into the body that is 180 degrees

out of phase with the pulse it detects in the body, cancelling it out.

I had a series of these treatments over the summer of 1997 and

have steadily improved to the point where I eat bread daily.

Best of Health!

Dear ,

You might be surprised. Search on the net, phone around, ask

at health food stores. There are quite a few practitioners.

The one I had was trained in Austria.

Best of health!

Donna,

You'll find as you get deeper into it that the diet eschews

fermentable fiber, especially the fiber that keeps your probiotic

bowel bacteria correct. That removes control bacteria but doesn't

even address the other 3/4 of the bacteria in there. What the diet

likes you to do instead is eat probiotic bacteria but not allow

them to establish a culture. How cockeyed is that?

The other thing is, restrictions on things such as cold-processed

whey, which is a valuable glutathione precursor. Because the

irritable bowel disorders show systemic depetion of glutathione, an

important natural antioxidant created in your cells, and often

COMPLETE depletion in the tissues at the injured site, I think

outlawing precursors for the very substance needed in these cases

is also cockeyed. Especially because many degenerative illnesses

are associated with low glutathione.

Both of my comments have solid science behind them. See all that on

my website.

mercury interferes with the enzymes used to digest gluten

and casein. There is some research about it on Bernie

Windham's site, or in the files of autism treatment.
