Marta you've gotta do the Tankini....when your spending the day in a

suit it makes bathroom trips soooooo much easier.

Running around in your birthday suit makes it even EASIER! Of course, the

skid marks are more pronounced. :-)

Hello Nanette

Watch the glucophage, it's pretty good when you are reasonably well but

as soon as you get a little bit sick with a cold or something, it

becomes toxic and you could die from it. I think the most important

measurement is two hours after a meal which gives you an idea of what

your peak glucose level is. Test more often to start with, before

meals and two hours after a meal to get a feel of what your body feels

like at the different glucose levels. I don't know what lentos is,

they usually start off with amaryl when they use oral medication. The

amaryl had me on a roller coaster ride with the glucose level, it had me

dropping way down; that stopped when they put me on Lantus which is a

new high tech genetically engineered Insulin, glucose regulation has

been very good since then but I now know that when I feel bad after a

meal, it's the glucose.

One thing I've noticed, the sugar free bread that you buy at the

supermarket, stays free of mold forever. Guess even mold doesn't like

it. The low sodium bread usually has mold before you leave the store.

It's kinda strange that we think of only being " diabetic " or whatever

since the diagnosis when the diagnosis is only the point where we

finally figured out that we've been whatever for a while. Along those

lines, I've been diabetic since 2002 and with CHF secondary to DCM since

2001 (CHF/DCM usually kills within two years and they thought I would

die that weekend that I was diagnosed but I'm still kicking).

Regards,

I am sure you will make a good impression.Anyone who helps care for animals has a good heart.Try not to be so hard on yourself.I know, easier said than done!

I hope your medicine stops making you sick once you adjust to it again.

-- hi

i don't know what to write. i am still here though. i ran out of my

medicines and i have been feeling nasty. the ocd is bad and i am finding

it hard with the autism. i forgot how much the medicines make life

easier. a lady from my town drove me to the next town to get some

medicines today and i am pretty sure she thought i was strange because i

was too nervous about the germs and touching things and i could not stop

the movement and stims that the autism makes me do. i know some people

with autism say they dont have to pretend to be normal and that people

have to accept it how you are but i do those movements and sounds when i

don't want to and the medicines help with making my brain understand

what's around me better so that i don't need to do that. it does not

matter what other people think but if i am unable to not do those things

then it means i am not doing well in my head. i got my medicines today

and i took it and now i feel sick like when i first took that medicine a

few years ago it made me feel sick for a while. i ran out for about a

week and a half and i was just telling myself i only had to wait until

today then i can get more. my animals are ok and i probably have two new

ones coming to stay next week that are for me to foster and rehome but

if i like them i probably keep them. i can cope with animals but not

with people at the moment i hope that by next week when i meet the temp

foster carers that i will be ok to make a good impression.

CZ,

You are one of the bravest, most intelligent and articulate women I know. We all say that it shouldn't matter what other people think, but sometimes to us it just does. I know I feel that way sometimes. It isn't easy to accept that some people are just uneducated about differences in people. It also is difficult to have to educate people yourself about certain differences. I learned this in college when I was kicked out of class because I asked the teacher to use a device that would help me hear him better. It is hard not to be bitter about it. When I have to explain to people about my brother's autism...that is when I get angry. I just can't help myself. Some people are such fools that I just don't have the time or patience to explain why my brother may be different, but he isn't inferior to anyone on this planet, and superior to most. I believe that people with autism, attention deficit and the like are geniuses and 'normal' people just don't understand because they don't have the capacity to see it. I guess that is why when I walk by a garden with many different colors, shapes, sizes and species of flowers and plants I am much more impressed than when I walk by one that only has one kind of flower. Maybe someday our differences will be prized instead of looked down upon. Until then CZ, we're here to help you through it.

Hugs,

thank you heather. i don't think all people with autism are geniuses. we

are just people. some are very intelligent and some are intellectually

disable and others are just normal intelligent and have different skills

from each other just like everybody. i think communication problems make

it hard for other people to see someone as intelligent sometimes. like

this guy i used to know who was in a wheelchair for being partly

paralysed and he didn't speak clearly but he was very intelligent and a

lot of people called him a spastic and said he was dumb. sometimes

people don't try hard enough to find out what a person is really like

underneath the problems.

My ex daughter in law had a terrible car accident a long time back, she had to be in a brace constantly for her left leg. That was 24 years ago

Finally she meet someone ,she thought he loved her, when she had to have her left ankle amputated and a prosthetic attached, this creep lammed it out saying he did not want a cripple for a girlfriend, needless to say she was really devastated.

TOLD HER THIS

some uncaring pompous people are so ignorant that they do not know that nobody is perfect, every one of us has a disabiity, even them ,( the super perfect so they think--) not to get upset over such shallow people,we should feel pity for them They need it

CZ,

From the autistics that I've met, they've all had way above average intelligence. Some had a harder time expressing themselves, and maybe different uses for their intelligence, but all of the autistics I've met there is just something...it is hard to explain. Something in their eyes.....I can see the same thing with people with attention deficit and in very wise people. Maybe it is just a 'knowing'. I'm not sure how to explain it, but I know when I see it. I used to wonder if people who look at someone who is 'different' and see something abnormal, if that is meant to be to protect the different people from them. Who knows for sure, but I sure can't relate to people like that.

the things people say about my eyes are " nobody's home " and sometimes

that i look right through people. i used to hear things that people

meant to be private sometimes because people would talk around me as if

i wasn't there. i think it's funny when people do that. i can look at

peoples eyes but i don't like doing it because i don't get any

communication from them and other people don't like me looking at their

eyes either. i have been told that i make people uncomfortable when i

look in their eyes.
