Guest guest
I've heard of folks putting wheat grass directly into smoothies; I can't help but feel that the fiber is too much for human digestion, though (and I have read as much). The crockpot is a cool idea! I have done it in the Freshlife, but that is a pain, getting all the roots back out of the trays. The smooth surface of the crockpot has got to be way easier to clean! Thanks for the tip! I've been planning on growing a small pot for my cat, and now I'm thinking I'll just do it in a cat-dish, rather than a pot of dirt. :~) Thia On Fri, Aug 28, 2009 at 12:20 AM, cynthia wilson < cynthia-wilson@...> wrote: > > > Here is one of my weird experiments: Pistachio soaks, sprouted chick peas, > onion, garlic, and sweet red pepper blended with a bit of water to a thick > paté, then used as a veggie dip. Guest guest
Hi Ernest, I'm hoping everyone is busy like me picking gallons of tomatoes and other produce. I've got nine grape tomato plants. (I have three different varieties, Julliet, Tami G., and Jelly Bean.) And I eat them all fresh, a gigantic tomato salad or two every day. By the time the cold weather cuts off the tomato production (it will slow down through September into October, then we'll get a hard freeze in the middle of October), I will be sick of eating them so it will be good that I'll have to wait till next August to deal with the bounty again. Still sprouting; clover, broccoli, fenugreek, and others to include in my salads. So it goes in South Western Michigan, how's growing for you Ernest, over in LA? Guest guest
I'm going to be harvesting my herbs. Would you believe we had a frost for the last two nights? Anyway I have Cilantro, Coriander (same plants different parts), Lots of Parsley, English Thyme, Tarragon, Garlic Chives, plain Chives, and Marjoram to harvest. My Broccoli is getting its heads, the cabbages need another week. The sugar snap peas are finished. And I have a squash plant that I didn't plant.. It came from my compost.. It has 4 acorn squash on it...lol Same things happened last year I had an acorn squash plant growing from my compost bin, this year it grew in the garden. Guest guest
Lee, et.al. I planted the Jelly Bean tomato this year also. I had never grown it before. It has a problem. It puts out tons of sweet little tomatoes, but none of them seem to make it into the house, well maybe half do the rest are eaten within three feet of the vine. I planted eight different tomato varieties. One called Arkansas TraviIer was my favorite. I have had a soil virus the past three years and have not been able to grow summer squash. I finally conqured it and have an over abundance. My neighbors are shunning me. Made a lot of pickles both from cucumbers and zucchini. Made about 40 pints and 10 quarts of dilly beans, a family favorite. Not allowed to come to a family function without a jar. Its been over a hundered degrees all this week and my garden (as well as me) is taking a beating. ew PS, How's everybody else doing? Guest guest
That is great that Gabe is doing well at his new school with a new teacher. I'll pray he makes real progress this school year. Pat K Re: say a prayer for Karac and DIL Pat, I'm so glad that your daughter is coming to the BBQ. That is the start of her coming around. You are a godsend in Karac life! This is probably after the fact of the bbq that I am writing, but I'm usually a few days to a week behind my emails. Sorry....but my thoughts and prayers are with you, karac and your DIL. In a message dated 9/6/2009 9:19:54 P.M. Mountain Daylight Time, ljdjd1234 writes: , I have no idea. DIL and family will be there. This is a good thing because until everybody started praying for her,she wouldn't come to any of the family get togethers. However, Karac will ride to and from with DH and me. I'm glad about that because unfortunately, the worse place for Karac to be is with his family!
