Guest guest
Dear Dr. Krishnamurthy, Its great to see that you are seeking information on Fatih based organisations. Recently Directorate, National Vector Borne Disease Control Program, New Delhi has organized a National Level Workshop on Launching of Anti Malaria Month. Stress has been given to strengthen Public - Private Partnership. Faith Based Organization are called for presenting their effort. Fr. Secretary CBCI Health Commission has pioneered in promoting Public -Private Partnership with Faith Based Organization. Government of India along with State Governments have also been looking forward to strengthen their partnership with Faith Based Organization. India has privilege to have vast network of Faith Based Organization all round the country and a large no. of services in the field of Education, Health care , Disaster Relief and Peace has been offered by these FBOs. Commitment to serve the marginalized people is one of the strength of these FBOs. India has been a place for cherishing co-existence of different religion and thus growth of FBOs is natural. A number of institutions under FBOs like Ram Krishna Mission, Bharat Sewashram Ashram, Sarvodaya Ashram, DAVs, Missionary of Charities and Church based organizations have been delivering outstanding services in the Socio-economic prosperity of the marginalized and poor population of India. Please find attached more information on the Faith Based Organization in context with Church based FBOs in India. Regards. Guest guest
Dear Dr.Krishnamurthy, Safe Observer, a coalition bringing partners from NGOs, FBOS and trade unions, will have a presence at AIDS INDIA Conference in Chennai. We intend to raise the issues of the non-sexual aspects of HIV transmission: injection safety, blood collection safety, blood transfusion safety, and safe essential technologies in PHC, as well as safe water, essential to reduce Hemintic infections found to favor HIV and TB. These could save millions of lives, stop HIV transmission through dirty care and protect vulnerable PWAs from bloodborn diseases transmission and from dangerous intestinal infections. We think that the motto of the World Alliance for Patient Safety is good : cleaner care is safer care, calling for an end to dirty injections (WHO figures say half of the 16 billion injections for care per year in the world are DIRTY! I am myself in the " Patients for Patients Safety " branch of the WAPS, although what I may be doing in Chennai does not in any way involve my responsability with the WAPS/WHO. I also have been co-editor in chief of the World Council of Churches' magazine on HIV/AIDS (see: www.contactforhealth.org) and recently conducted AIDS seminars in Athens' WCC world conference as a consultant. I will be attending the AIDS INDIA conference this fall, and would be delighted to assist at that time, if you so wish. Otherwise, you need to be more precise as to what your needs are and what you have in place so far.
