My Great Grandmother died on Christmas eve. It was snowing that year, A pretty rare thing here. The sister at the Catholic hospital said how wonderful to spend Christmas in heaven. I always remember that. Last week when we had the Kids Rebel Americans concert(The school is the Emma Sansom Rebels and the rebel Americans are the school choir). Two of the kids had to get their Grandmother to take them because their momma was running late from a Librarians conference(she was librarian at Gadsden State Jr. College). She never made it to the concert. She veered into incoming traffic on a narrow highway and hit a semi head on. The car burned and they couldn't ID her. It was late that night when they got the tag run, found out it was a Gadsden State car and figured out who it was. How horrible that I was sitting there watching the choir and warm and safe and these kids up there(a sophomore and a senior) had lost their momma and didn't know it. Made me absolutely sick at my stomach to hear this. She was only a little older than me and the kids in the choir with mine. She was trying to get back to Gadsden to see her babies sing, and never made it. Makes you thankful for what you have, doesn't it? in Bama http://hometown.aol.com/mdl1031/myhomepage/profile.html VBG to RNY revision 1996-Failed Rny to Ds revision 12/06/02 Down111lbs!! Sending up a prayer for these girls. I don't know who they are, but God does. My son's future MIL lost her house this past Saturday to a fire. Nobody was home so there was no loss of life, but a total loss of all life's possessions. And she has three daughter's all getting married in the next year...one this week, one in June, and one (to my son) to be announced soon. So sad. None of the kids lived with her so they didn't lose their stuff. But still...my heart breaks for their mom (Lori) and her boyfriend who she lived with (Dan). Guest guest
Jim, prayers have already been said, of course. I am not really up on Oncology, it sounds like a pediatric tumor to me so I will have to go look it up to see how wrong I am. marta

It is most common after age 50, and has a very poor prognosis. I'm sorry for your friend. It is commonly treated with radiation therapy which is what they are probably planning for her since they do not want to do surgery.
