It is most common after age 50, and has a very poor prognosis. I'm sorry for your friend. It is commonly treated with radiation therapy which is what they are probably planning for her since they do not want to do surgery. Betsy Prayer Request Friends, A very dear friend of mine (whom I introduce as my sister) has been diagnosed with a tumor in the brain - it's the gliboblastoma type which is fast growing. Surgery is not recommended because the tumor is deep, and would leave her paralyzed or a vegetable. The doctors were quite concerned that in 7 weeks her eyesight has deteriorated considerably. May I ask you to add Pat to your prayer list? We need all the prayers we can get. Marta, what do you know about this type of tumor?
