Well, the outing did get cancelled. I know is about to get sick too, so

maybe it's for the best. woke up from his nap with a runny nose. Just

wants to be held, and I have to be careful how I pick him up, or it hurts my

wrists. is always a bear right before he gets sick. He's acting like

before he was taken off wheat. I decided to watch MY TV, since he has a TV in

his room and it threw him into tears.

Yippee yeah, gonna be a great night. And DH has all-day/all-night duty

tomorrow, he'll be home in time to change clothes and go to church.

Thanks, Gail.....at the time (3 years ago or so) my employer determined that it

wasn't bad enough to operate. I worked in a sewing factory, sewing men's suit

coats, piece rate. Don't let anyone tell you more work goes into a Tommy

Hillfiger sport coat than one for TWA flight attendants. We did both and got

paid the same for each one. I only worked for 3 years before DH and I

reconciled and I flew to beautiful (but lonely) Hawaii.

Boy, that little story about the outlet explains some of the sport coats that

went through my line........like someone who went through the 70's but didn't

really remember because they were on acid the whole time..... weird.....

And my friend who worked right in front of me had the surgery and was still

having problems, and a scar to boot.

You've got it Loriann. I sure understand much needed respite. Dave and I

will be having our first date in a year tomorrow, with respite for 4 hours.

I have always used my respite so I can work when is home from school,

being on different tracts. It will be really nice to see a movie that isn't

kid oriented or eat in a REAL restaurant . We've never used our respite FOR

respite as it was intended and It is REALLY needed.

has had a substitute teacher this week and has been a mess. Even their

telling me that it's because his teacher is out. I guess they're really

learning.

Hope your outing is a go. We can compare relaxation stories.

<< Also, last Sunday I watched the babies in Church for what some call

extended session, we call praise care. There were 11 babies from 4 months up

to about 18 months, most over a year old, 2 adults, 1 teenager and they all

cried for the whole hour and a half. I injured my wrists a few years back,

corporal tunnel syndrome (sp) and was given a permanent partial disability of

5% in one hand, 10$ in the other. Anyway, Sunday aggravated it and now I'm

having to wear my arm braces again, something I haven't done in about 3

years. I didn't let them rest enough after Sunday, and I almost dropped

yesterday when I picked him up.

So, appreciate any prayers you want to send this way.

Loriann,

Prayers headed your way! I had the surgery for that a few years back.

Helped, but now my hand is tingly a lot of the time. Good luck!

Loriann,

Wow, tough job! Tommy is from my town. I used to go to his little rinky

dink store and buy hippy things! It was called The Peoples Place " and sold

very weird things! LOL Reeked of pot all the time! I see his cousin every

week at UCP House here. His only outlet is here in town. You may be lucky

they didn't operate. Doesn't always work you know?

LOL yea, he did some weird things down in that basement store! LOL Don't

know how he got away with selling all the pot paraphernalia! LOL And yes,

did leave a nice little scar on me too! Glad it's in the crease of my wrist,

well, it is when I bend my hand back to my elbow! LOL

Well, it's not super bad. Like I said, I ended up with only 5% on one hand and

10% on the other permanent partial disability. I'll wear my braces for a few

days and it'll clear up. I just went to pick up two days ago and my wrist

almost gave out and I almost dropped him. When I first got it (still working at

the factory) I was getting his Sunny Delight, walking over to the counter

with it and something hard hit my foot. I honestly didn't know what it was

because I thought I still had hold of the juice. I'm just glad it's not like

that anymore.

Oh gosh Loriann!!! I'm sorry!!! I don't know how you take care of kids when

you've got that. I had the effects of carpal tunnel when pg with my 4th.

I just remember not being able to hold a coffee cup with one hand, or tying

shoes!! Can't imagine how you live with the real thing!!! Prayers coming

at ya!!!

OK, I feel better. I went to Kmart and got some hair color. The boys were even

good while I colored my hair. I just couldn't wait until they went to bed.....I

don't like to blow dry my hair after I color it, and I wanted to see it in the

new color fast.....

If you couldn't tell from the picture of us in the Rams shirts, I had stopped

coloring it, and about half way down was my normal color, but I still had these

lighter ends. I think it made me look older. So, now I went close to my

natural color. It's hard to tell on yourself, especially when you've been

coloring as long as I have and can't really remember :-)

It's a little darker, but at least it's all one color. A real mood booster!!

I'll have to get DH to take a pic of me and the kids to post so you can all see.

Amazing what a little change like that can do to one's spirits.

Loriann, I haven't been online for a week and just saw your prayer request.

I'll certainly send one up for your wrists. I know how difficult and

frustrating it is when you have children to care for and your body isn't

100%. Let us know how you're doing. Take care,

Maureen

My Prayers are with you and England also. And NO it is NOT selfish to

ask for prayer for yourself!!! Are you on high ground so you can stay

where you are at? Keep us informed.

Tasha,

I am 2 days behind in mail, but I hope you and your family are safe and well.

Don't take any chances--things can be replaced but you and your family can't.

Stay safe...Love and big warm hugs,

Well, we are getting hurricane type weather (its

like a hurricane but not a hurricane does that make ANY sense???)

We are on Red Alert. I am a little nervous. Dave

said nothing to worry about. But just today he said that he has never seen

anything this bad.

Hugs to you
