My roommate, who is not disabled, just purchased one. When he gets it I'll look

it over and let everyone know. I think someone else on the list already has one.

Has anyone purchased a Kindle? They look great, but so expensive.

My hubby was actually concerned about this for me too. His friend at work let

him take hers home for me to try and it was ok for me, but it might be hard for

some people.

I had a kindle, and could not use the menu roller button.  It needed a very

direct " push " .  This precluded menu-intensive newspapers. Weak SMA 2 diagnosis.

Just got the kindle 2, and found that all of the relevant buttons are so close

together (in the bottom right) that it works quite well.  They've also replaced

the menu roller button with a min-joystick which works better for me by far.

As you all know, it really depends on where you are physically, but I'm quite

limited with arm mobility, and this (for once) works.

I sound like a Jeff Bezos-lackey, but I am a big fan after just a few days use.

I took a quick look and touch at my roommate's Kindle. Its a little heavier than

I thought it would be, and its kind of an odd shape; its bigger than I thought.

The navigation button would be difficult for someone with limited dexterity. It

is really neat, but I think it would be difficult for some people with

disabilities.

Subject: Kindle

Well, the kindle is great for reading....carrying books, and LISTENING to

them...I have the 3G wireless kindle.

I make PDF documents and transfer them to my kindle for study and reading at my

leisure. Example of some of my documents...Scripts for meditations...

LISTS... I do love my lists....lists of the exercises I do with my LL...

Lists of my crafts...I DO WAY TOO MANY...too many started...some finished, but

not enough.

There are CHEAP games and NOTE PADS and calendars all available for the kindle.

Now I have a smart phone, but I don't have an APPLE IPHONE.

I've watched my daughters with their IPHONES...and I can SEE the Kindle is

" cheaper " ...don't need a subscription...etc. The more expensive kindles do have

an internet browser.

ly, if you have a computer you can access even EVERY OTHER DAY...ya don't

need a phone or a kindle to do so.

I've deactivated my facebook for a little while...Hah...don't miss it

much...I've told my lovely daughters they should send any pictures of my

grandchildren to my EMAIL.

I like my kindle. Love to read..

By the way, My Dad's book, COLLARD GREENS, is now available in EBOOK form...by

Sylvest Sr.

Still doing peachy....LL all day long!

Hi ,

I'm so glad to read about your experiences with your Kindle and what you

do and do not do with it!!

But the thing I want to say here and now is how interesting it is that

your Dad is an author. I just found this web page about your Dad and

his book through Google. (I hope that this link will get to the group:

http://www.tigertoons.org/collardgreens/collardgreens.html

and will read it later when I have time!! There is a picture of your

Dad on the page, as you can see and probably knew before you clicked on

the link above, and I want to tell you right now that I think your Dad

is a very handsome man!! Much love to him from me and please do wish

him luck with his book for me!!! Has he written any books in the past,

or is this his first--or his ONLY-book?

Love always,

Pat
