Guest guest
Marta, you are right, they don't usually like you to get up that first day! I BEGGED to get that damn catheter out and WANTED to walk, (I had very very little pain) but Dr Z made me wait til the morning to take the cath out! No, they won't push you to walk the first day after the TT usually, but you do still get the fun foot pumps, and you gotta keep them legs a movin'!!! (I wiggled my toes, feet, ankles, anything to keep my legs from staying stiff and still!) Also, to some regarding pain meds....I have gone through HELL since my DS with esophageal spasms, and ANY pills, especially Vicodin or Tylenon " 3's set them off within 15-20 minutes, so my Doc prescribed liquid Hydrocodone (Vicodin - without aceteminophen) and it workd/works awesome! They don't carry it in the hospital but you CAN ask for it when you go home instead of Vicodin tablets. It goes down very easily, is sweet, absorbs FAST and eases pain GREAT! I am blessed to have found it, but even more blessed that since my TT and hernia repair I have not had any esophageal spasms a all (3 weeks today and not ONE, compared to 3-4 a week the last year!!!)I don't know what they did or what set them off, but since being reintubated and undergoing this surgery they have simply disappeared! I think I will give God credit for this one! My thoughts and prayers are with all of you undergoing surgeries in the next few days and weeks!!! I am finally going to get this drain out on Wednesday! THEN I will feel like a human again! You wont want to walk right after the TT/hernia repair. Even if they let you , which they wont... Sharon in Onyx who even a day later could only make it to the door before feeling faint.... Guest guest
and Pat, I'm going to confess here and since its hidden at the end of this note, maybe Mama Jo won't see it (tee hee) ... I have been eating too many carbs this week... ====================== Yeah right put my name in the post and I'll just skim over it!! lol Eating carbs and depression go hand in hand with each other. When we eat carbs there is a release of Seretonin (spell) This makes you " feel " better for a short time...but just like a drug addict it makes you CRAVE it because your body wants that INSTANT LIFT again and again and again. If your getting your proteins in then go ahead and ADD carbs into your diet...lol...not so fast wipe that smile off your face...Add COMPLEX carbs...high fiber carbs....beans, veggies, whole grain breads, oatmeal.......If its " white " stay away from it. Sometime understanding WHY your craving something helps you get it under control. Now for the depression...don't eat " white " carbs and get your butt into exercise mode...the exercise helps...helps the depression and helps the weightloss...and builds muscle so your burning more calories as you sit and read post!!! Hugs Jo If the depression is severe...get thy rear to the doctor.

Guest guest
Cale was only home for that first weekend of Sept. Mom took him back that Monday in the rain from Frances. He gets another leave Oct 8. He got disciplinary platoon for that fight he got in while he was on the phone with me. Beth is busy with school, friends and trying to find a job. She was all ready to sign up for swim team and changed her mind. Too bad because she really needs some exercise. Glad Tim is getting out of your hair. Has he been behaving or a pain in the ass? Call from the GI yesterday, my thyroid is out of whack. Top of range is 5.5 & mine is 37. Hope that's a mistake. I'll know more after today's visit to primary. I'm tired of complications!
