Thanks Gloria. Just one other thing as I read the article about formication from Sharon. I have never used or tried any of those drugs. In fact, other than medications from my doctors I've not used many prescription drugs or illegal drugs. Back in 1986 I got Lyme Disease, most likely while gardening barefoot. There is also a possibility that I got Lyme Disease as a result of a trip I had made to Lake Tahoe and as I usually had done, I went into the bush... hiking. When I first came down with this insidious illness I had a sensation of ants walking inside my skull. I had never had that sensation prior to getting ill. I spent 3 months in bed almost constantly sleeping, and had so many symptoms of illness and near death, it would take many paragraphs to describe all the symptoms I came down with at that time.I am sure many people do develop formication or delusional parasitosis. I have no idea who they might be. I still have sensations although they are fewer than 3-4 years ago when I was bit constantly. Like many who have visited this site, it got better with time and with lots of treatments. This is not say that Sharon has found the answer for her. I hope and pray that is so. I have had many days when I thought this was all done. Unfortunately, that has not been 100% the case for me, but I still go on with my life. From: "gloria123445566" <no_reply >bird mites Sent: Tuesday, May 22, 2012 1:45:20 PMSubject: Re: Post # 2 of the end of my horrorHey guys. I would be very wary about believing that this is truly what you

have. Did you already have the Igenex testing done?

I was also diagnosed with delusional parasitosis by my own

psychiatrist. And he had good reasons to believe that's what I had,

it was in fact a very very bad coincidence because at that time he

was treating me with two very strong medications (an MAOI, Parnate,

and a stimulant, Adderall.) You'd think it would make perfect sense

to believe that this combination would have caused me to develop

delusional parasitosis? Correct, Adderall is a strong stimulant,

similiar to Cocaine, and Parnate is a stimulating MAOI. I didn't

blame my doctor for believing it.

However, I knew for a fact that that was NOT the case. And the

reason I knew it was simple: My mitemare didn't begin one day out of

nowhere during the course of my treatment. Something major had to

happen for it to occur, and I knew exactly what it was: I bought a

piece of furniture that had been refurbished. After a week, I

discovered it was infested with mites. I tried to kill them, and

that caused them to jump all over me and I became their host. I put

a pan with hot steaming water in my room (like recommended on

birdmites.org) to catch a mite, and I did, I caught about 3. I took

them to my psychiatrist, he saw them, he saw the marks on my skin,

and he believed me for a few days. But then he went back to his old

theory and asked me where did I find those critters.

I took the mites and the Morgellons organisms to an entomologist, he

ID'd them as "baby spiders" and "unidentified organism." Then people

around me would scratch all the time, did I imagine that too? When I

moved out of my apartment, the guy who helped me said he felt very

itchy for several days after he helped me move out.

Delusional parasitosis? I doubt it. There's plenty of evidence

showing that this was real. And plenty of people with the exact same

story and symptoms who were never on medications.

So I would advice you don't necessarily believe everything they tell

you about delusional parasitosis. The entomologist I saw was

receiving dozens of samples of the same stuff I had: "debris". So

there is something strange going on in the environment and it's not

delusional parasitosis, although it perfectly fits the description.

Do your research. The testing would be the biggest proof that you

have something other than DP.

That is interesting Jess. How are you? I think of you so often. When we made the decision to have our carpets removed we tried to find a company that would remove the carpets and protect their workers. We paid extra for that and were up front about what we needed and why. The poor workers came in with no protection... as they were leaving and standing at the top of the stairs, one of the men started jumping all over the place because of all the stuff that had crawled on him. He had no idea why he was removing the carpets either. We felt really bad about that, but we tried to do the right thing getting a special environmentally sound place to remove carpets. Nonetheless, it has always stood in my mind that it was not just us that were being attacked. This fellow was too. From: "jessnyc" <helpnynow@...>bird mites Sent: Tuesday, May 22, 2012 4:31:53 PMSubject: Re: Re: Post # 2 of the end of my horror

vet had already diagnosed my cat with mites about a year

before that, so I knew we had them, thanks to a smart vet

who noticed a sore on my cat. I HAD ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA

WHAT WAS BITING US, until the vet said it was sarcoptic

mange mite. And believe me when I tell you this. It's a

MIGHTY MITE, hard to break the life cycle, very active,

crawling, biting, you name it. It's been many years for me

and my pets. Delusional???? I DON'T THINK SO. I went

through about 20 air mattresses and spend about 30

thousand dollars so far. Very expensive. Draining. Love

reading your stories guys. Thank God that Sharon is done

with her mitemare.

I was a mental health support worker for many years

I did come across people with genuine delusions of parasites

However these people were floridly mentally ill

Many had taken copius amounts of drugs illicit and otherwise

There was no reasoning to their delusions...

Its a terrible affliction

A psychosis

So therefore when my doctor came to my flat thinkin she may have to section me

...

I told her

I have seen them swarming my feet

...though I know, that others havent n doesnt mean they werent there

Two diferent pest control people suspected birdmites

Me n cat bitten everywhere

Holes in roof birds nesting

Nestgunk coming down from roof into bedroom fireplace

....

I said ..

This isnt just a thing appeared outta the blue

Lots,to bak up what I was experiencing

..

She had to leave..

She was confused but could NOT label me delusional

She didnt know,what to think!!

I dont know Sharon so o dont have a clue whats happening for her

I hope it,is,over after all

But she,talks in relief

If she has delusional problems

That would also be a great concern

Its a serious illness in itself for the people thst do have it

But for people, who have an infestation

Its incredibly upsetting to be labelled with a psychiatric illness immediately

Just because a medical professional cannot see what we are suffering

It is infuriating

And insulting

And adds insult to injury!!

We all have some delusions... some more profound than others. But I totally appreciate what you are saying. I wonder how you get rid of delusions? I read that it can be as you said, a part of a deeper mental illness. I've had depression in my life and lots of grief. I have never been diagnosed with anything other than anxiety and depression. There has been a lot of physical evidence that many of these doctors who diagnose DOP ignore. Like the swarming on your feet and your cat falling ill. Sometimes their diagnosis is a real illogical stretch of the imagination, where they are jumping to conclusions that are significantly unlikely and irrational, more so than the conclusions we have come to, i.e., that we have bird mites or some other type of mite which is unseen infesting us. Hi

Not sure what u mean that we,all have delusions

Do I mean just general worries n anxieties that can realy get to us eg

mayonaisse etc

We can all be neurotic but its, just the normal mind with its, anxieties, sometimes

worse than others, especially after going thru the birdmites trauma, enough to

make anyone very anxious!!!:-(

The people, that had delusional parasitosis had a definate psychiatric illness a

psychosis eg their minds were psychotic with this, illness

Huge huge diference between neurosis n psychosis

Therefore the doctors branding this expression delusional parasitosis onto

people, left right centre is a huge label

They need to be sure, what they are dealing with first!

Hi CI understand what you are referring to... I was thinking of delusions of grandeur kind of delusions... or maybe I'm thinking of illusions. I think we all have illusions about things, so maybe they aren't delusions. And I really do understand the difference. I was overstating. I will have to look up the word "delusions" for clarification! <3 From: "ILIKE TREES" <wherearetheangels@...>bird mites Sent: Wednesday, May 23, 2012 10:06:12 AMSubject: Re: Re: Post # 2 of the end of my horrorHi Not sure what u mean that we,all have delusionsDo I mean just general worries n anxieties that can realy get to us eg mayonaisse etcWe can all be neurotic but its, just the normal mind with its, anxieties, sometimes worse than others, especially after going thru the birdmites trauma, enough to make anyone very anxious!!!:-(The people, that had delusional parasitosis had a definate psychiatric illness a psychosis eg their minds were psychotic with this, illnessHuge huge diference between neurosis n psychosisTherefore the doctors branding this expression delusional parasitosis onto people, left right centre is a huge labelThey need to be sure, what they are dealing with first!------------------------------On Wed, May 23, 2012 08:53 PDT Goldstein@... wrote:>We all have some delusions... some more profound than others.
