Guest guest
Sharon, I was just thinking about you (and worrying for you). I believe it is a mistake to think that just because we can't see it, it isn't there. I think it is easy for people to think that. Especially because it is a lot of work for someone to figure out what is going on with you. I would ask you? You feel these sensations all the time, but I believe you said you could never see anything? Have you picked up a little microscope. Mine cost me about $13. Somehow, just being able to view what was bothering me, helped me a lot. It made it " real " . I was luckier than many because the pest which was bothering me, I saw. Only once, but I saw it. After that, I got bit all the time and never saw anything. Do you have bite marks or little red dots or anything to indicate you have been bitten? The guy I spoke with in Hawaii told me that their mites went from the visible red mite to being attacked by something nobody could see. It felt like it was all over you, even burrowing into your skin. It might be a good idea to call him. He helped me out a lot by reinforcing to me that I was not paranoid or crazy. Yeah, my friends tried to tell me it was all in my head as well. The first couple of times I went to a hotel, it went with me. I could not get rid of it so just returned home. You know yourself better than anyone. Are you the type to imagine something like this? You will need to fight this even in the face of disbelief. That takes strength of purpose. Be strong. I know everyone here is on your side and everyone here believes in you. Guest guest
Terry: Thanks for your concern. I was going to order the microscope but didn't get around to it and thankfully have no need for it now. I have no crawley feelings of any kind so my horror is over with. I never had marks or bites. Please read my post #3 to see what I believe caused my problem. That this is common with drug users blew me away. The only thing that could have caused it for me was all those Chinese meds I combined and took with my vitamin regimen. Trust me! You'll never see the day when I use anything like that again. I just hope I can get the smell of those horrid Oils and cleaning things out of my house. I used to love cleaning with Lysol but now it nauseates me. It's wonderful to sleep in my bed again, lay on the sofa and watch tv, do the laundry as I always did and not fear of spreading mites everywhere. I'm over keeping the vacuum bag in the freezer. Thank God, it's OVER!!! The pastor/counsellor was surprised I accepted the diagnosis because most people reject it. When I read it I saw that it described my experience exactly and I am very grateful that God gave him the wisdom to point me in the right direction. I have a new friend here in town who has experienced the same symptoms for 3 years. It appears hers are caused by an energy drink she had begun using and has used since right before that time. I got her the black light and she, too saw nothing and so she is on the road to recovery. Guest guest
Four things happened: 1) The exterminator told me " I've been doing this for 30 years and I can tell you if you can't see them they aren't there " . And he also told me about the retired swat team member who had the same thing and was healed with St s Wort. He also told me to check with a black light. 2) After I got off the phone with the exterminator I ran to Whole Foods and bought what I perceived to be the best St s Wort on their shelf and immediately began taking it. Before bed that night I had taken 3 doses. 3) That night, in the middle of the night when the crawling woke me up, I checked the air mattress and me, using the black light (a long tubular light I got at Wal-Mart) and a super magnifier. There was not a crawling thing to be found. I knew then that there were no mites and at that point ALL the crawling stopped. Call it what you will - IT IS OVER! 4) Maybe, just maybe all the Chinese meds I had taken wore out of my system or maybe the St s Wort cancelled them out. 5) Whether it's mind over matter, I'll never know but all I can tell you is my life is getting back to normal and I do not have the crawlys anymore. Those articles on " Delusional Parasitosis " & " Formication " describe my experience to a T. I believe the Chinese meds screwed up my nervous system. The last Accupuncturist I went to told me it was my circulation & Central Nervous System. While I was in the treatment room all needled up he went out to the waiting room and told my husband that he should take me to a medical doctor because I needed treatment he couldn't give me. What more can I say? Guest guest
Hey guys. Sharon's story sounds like mine. BUT, heck, I couldn't see any mites either, until I sprayed a combination of essential oils on my skin and looked through my 60x pocketscope that I bought off of Ebay for about 10 bucks. It had to be a 60x pocketscope, because the 30x was not powerful enough. Once I spray the oils and took a quick look, I could see them, extremely tiny, trying to move about on my skin, black in color. BUT, my vet had already diagnosed my cat with mites about a year before that, so I knew we had them, thanks to a smart vet who noticed a sore on my cat. I HAD ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHAT WAS BITING US, until the vet said it was sarcoptic mange mite. And believe me when I tell you this. It's a MIGHTY MITE, hard to break the life cycle, very active, crawling, biting, you name it. It's been many years for me and my pets. Delusional???? I DON'T THINK SO. I went through about 20 air mattresses and spend about 30 thousand dollars so far. Very expensive. Draining. Love reading your stories guys. Thank God that Sharon is done with her mitemare. > > So, in response to my e-mail, the pastor who is a Ph.D., M.S. > Licensed Mental Health Counselor, e-mailed me back. > " Sharon, > After reading your email, I believe that I know what the problem is. Guest guest
Hi , I'm so sorry you had to go through that initial problem. That's sounds horrible. I haven't read the formication aritlce yet, but I will. I've read many on DOP, though. The diagnosis of DOP is cruel and a COP OUT, I believe. > > Thanks Gloria. Just one other thing as I read the article about formication from Sharon. I have never used or tried any of those drugs. In fact, other than medications from my doctors I've not used many prescription drugs or illegal drugs. > > > Back in 1986 I got Lyme Disease, most likely while gardening barefoot. There is also a possibility that I got Lyme Disease as a result of a trip I had made to Lake Tahoe and as I usually had done, I went into the bush... hiking. When I first came down with this insidious illness I had a sensation of ants walking inside my skull. I had never had that sensation prior to getting ill. I spent 3 months in bed almost constantly sleeping, and had so many symptoms of illness and near death, it would take many paragraphs to describe all the symptoms I came down with at that time. > > > I am sure many people do develop formication or delusional parasitosis. I have no idea who they might be. I still have sensations although they are fewer than 3-4 years ago when I was bit constantly. Like many who have visited this site, it got better with time and with lots of treatments. > > > This is not say that Sharon has found the answer for her. I hope and pray that is so. I have had many days when I thought this was all done. Unfortunately, that has not been 100% the case for me, but I still go on with my life. > > > > > I went in at 3pm and he had a diagnosis. Guest guest
Hello, sorry to be jumping into this conversation so late! But yhat exterminator needs to be fired. There are. Many microscopic things out there. What an idiot. If you have never had bites then you never had mites. I can guarantee the way I look right now is not delusional. I will fight this and for all the people who don't believe me or think I am crazy...ill show you crazy. I have seen this bug. So has my exterminator. I am happy you did not have this torturous bullshit. The mind does play tricks on us especially after. Dealing with it. When people talk abot ticks and lice you start itching. I guess it's anatural response. If any of these assholes out here had to go what we went through they would freak. I have lots of. Support , but also some who could care less. Lately I am consumed with anger and fear. My doctors appointment is on the 4th. Finally been waitng almost 10 months for this guy I hope he's the onE. I don't even know much about him. At this point I am willing to do anything. Let go and let god right? Wish you the best > > >> > > > >> > So, in response to my e-mail, the pastor who is a Ph.D., M.S. > > >> > Licensed Mental Health Counselor, e-mailed me back. > > >> > " Sharon, > > >> > After reading your email, I believe that I know what the problem is.
