Guest guest
Hi Terry,No apologies necessary. Post when you can and when you need to. So sorry you are dealing with this and the house situation. My son and daughter-in-law came over for lunch for Mother's Day and we sure enjoyed ourselves. We had a wonderful time and the house is pest free. You can do it too. It took us a year or so of intense work, to clear things, but it can be done. Something interesting happened while they were here and we were all chatting about this and that--many topics. My daughter-in-law talked about a co-worker of hers who has CFS and Fibro who has springtails... she is infested and all the same symptoms each of us have had. She talked at length about her friend's situation. This 60 year old woman apparently rents and has to deal with carpets and not enough money to move or find a new suitable place to live since she lives in Berkeley. In Berkeley they have rent control. But, if she decides to move she will not have rent control and will pay 2-3 x more than she pays now. You feel like reaching out to be, at least I do, but I would not want to have physical contact with her, it is just too risky after what we have been through ourselves. I also believe if you have certain illnesses like Lyme, these springtails or mites are much much harder to get rid of.So that was one topic. Another topic was something my son shared. His dad has scabies. I am also thinking that he does not have scabies at all, but what we have had. I just can't believe it. He thinks he got what he has when he traveled to India about 10 months ago on a charity mission. I suppose that could have happened, but who knows. Is it just my imagination, but are more and more people getting this nightmare? I truthfully don't know if my son's dad has bird mites or springtails, but it could be either. He loves dogs and has lots of dogs and kennels on his property. He lives in a wild area where there are coyote, and all sorts of wildlife, lots of deer. Guest guest
Hello , I am so very happy to hear you enjoyed your mother's day. I say to one and all who have children....You all deserve to be appreciated on your respective mother and father's days..and if you don't have children, then by golly sure hope you are getting some love from other family members, dogs, cats, fish...well you get the point. Cause everyone here needs it and deserves it!! As for the rest of your posting. I am so happy to hear your house is relatively clean and guest free. I am however a bit concerned about what you reported. It would seem to me that maybe we are not the exception to the rule, but perhaps the tip of the iceburg. With the increased emergence of new diseases, many of which we all share, it would seem that the human body is no longer able to sluff off microbial attacks, as perhaps it once was. Perhaps Lyme weakens us to this, and I am sure of that, but there are numerous other diseases out there that attacks and weakens our immune system. I believe these reports will increase as time goes on. I had heard some where about the development of a Lyme vaccine. I might check that out. Certainly inoculations have prevented wide spread epidemics. What I find very interesting is the number of " jumps " which seem to occur between birds and humans...consider the Avian Flu, the H5N1 strain and most recently the jump that has been made between the bird flu and H1N1...all of which is trying to make the jump to humans (some successfully so). Is it really a stretch to imagine bird mites as potential carriers from their natural avian hosts to human hosts? Pretty scary stuff, and not altogether sci-fi stuff either. I hope to continue my efforts towards finding out more about this as the days progress. Stay strong, Terry > > Hi Terry, > > > No apologies necessary. Post when you can and when you need to. Guest guest
Oh so sweet of you to say. I got a wonderful bunch of flowers from my son in California. And my daughter, her fiance and my youngest son went out to see The Avengers. I really liked the movie. It was so great to just relax with popcorn and a drink and not worry. Our local theater has recliners as seats so it is ever so comfy. Everyone had to get back to school work afterwards and I had to start in on my home, but there for those few hours, I found bliss. I suspect you are quite right about the vaccine. With all the possible variables, it might be worthless. And I understand about Kris needing to get back to his family. I hope his mother was able to get through everything without too much damage. How absolutely wonderful to have Kris so protective and interested in her care and not label her as " nutty " . But as a Geneticist he has probably been exposed to the weird and unexplainable. I won't bother him then and try and find other alternatives to my research efforts. I was starting to feel these little pin pricks on my legs while I sat at my desk, so I zapped the underneath area with the Lysol and sprayed my shoes with it as well. Everything seems to have quieted down. So I am still hanging in there. Bless you , you are so awesome, Terry > > > > Hi Terry, > > > > > > No apologies necessary.
