Hi , no I was not on this site when Kris was posting. Apparently that was

in the latter part of 2011 and I did not come on until this year.

I did use the suggested capture method from birdmites.org, but had no luck. I

had a couple of things in the water, but they seemed to be glowing a bit

(perhaps from the dish soap added to the water). But I had no success trying to

view them with the microscope. I have tried to find a way to email Kris, but

could not locate his email to write him privately as it seems he does not post

here often. Or, if anyone here has kept in touch with him, then they could

email him as well so he would not be surprised to hear from me a complete

stranger.

I have had no success finding any bird mite samples here at my house, however, I

have had more than enough sampling available on fungus. I wish I knew more

about the types of fungus so I could identify if I am really looking at fungus

or dirt or what. I am still thinking about contacting an Environmental

Specialist to come in and take samples. That way I will have something

available for Dr. Sporagano. I know he is most anxious to find bird mites first

as that will tie his work into this project. But I have a very good belief, and

I think others will back me on this (especially you Aandraya) that the bird

mites, as awful and horrific as they are, are associated with this fungus which

is at least if not more horrific than the mite, and that maybe where his level

of thought should be applied.

After one night here, and I admit it was hard to fall asleep, I awakened with

the usual stuffy nose and sore scratchy clogged throat. Not as bad as in the

past, but heck, it was only one night. When I blew my nose the usual blood was

discharged (usual meaning as to when I lived here, never happened at the hotel)

and I spent about five minutes clearing my throat. Nothing in the sputum, but

evidence of fungus appearing in other, shall we say, more private

places...again, did not experience that at the hotel. A close inspection of my

hands (after showering) demonstrated fine circular dots imbedded along my nail

cuticle and in my fingers. Most I was able to pry out, but one speck was too

deeply embedded for me to get to. And more black under some of my fingernails.

Under microscope, the fungi found on me and on the bed appear like dark brown

material with bubbles sometimes on the surface, some have hints of green and

yellow. Other fungi is completely yellow, like sap. I have also found fibers

entwined about a spherical object which I could not identify, but it was clear

appearing.

As I am not on abx yet, I am hoping that the antifungals I am taking will ward

off a major attack. Thus far I have not experienced any of the " swarming "

effects I had found in the past. I have completely cleaned my bedroom, using

murphys oil mixed with tea tree oil upon all of my furnishings. I have covered

my desk chair in duct tape and sprayed relentlessly with alcohol my computer and

computer keyboard. Thus far, no problems with the computer (I am sitting there

now). I am going to now use Lysol Disinfectant in my plant sprayer to treat my

bedroom to rid it of fungus. I have already taken about a dozen samples of the

areas within my bedroom so don't feel I need to gather any more. Now my purpose

is to systematically go through each room of my house in the same way.

The kitchen I had already sort of tackled yesterday. The black fungus was so

thick on the kitchen counters that even leaning against them I came away with

stripes of black fungus. Many of this fungus was very large as if it had been

growing for some time.

My son has a doctor appointment on June 8th. I hope to get him diagnosed and

treated as well.

I know many of you have successfully beat this thing. It is too early on to say

if I have or have not beat it (meaning the mite), but the fungus is here and

seems to be more willing to stick around. I initially planned on staying here

for only two days and then to retreat to my hotel. But that was based upon my

assumption that I was going to be terrorized. Now...well, I guess I will wait

and see what tonight has in store for me.

Sorry for the long post. I am attempting to provide a diary of events to you

all, as well as to me. It is ever so tiring to do posting to you all and then

write everything down in a journal. So I hope you don't mind me including you

as part of my journal efforts. Perhaps you will find some of it useful, or

maybe others will later on.

Stay strong everyone, Terry

> Good job Terry. Sorry to hear your mail didn't go through. It is a function or

problem with when that happens and I've had it happen 2 x before. I don't

have mites any more, but I know birdmites.org site used to have on their site a

way to capture mites using a pot of water with a type of lamp over it. I can't

remember how that is done. Maybe try there.

> I'm looking forward to whatever info you get from Dr. Sporogamo. Were you on

this site when Kris used to post? He was a geneticist working with bird mites.

His mother was infected in Great Britain. He was trying to help her and

gathering information. He went back to his life about a year ago, also very busy

raising kids and his professional work. He did not have mites himself, but just

wanted to help his mom and us. You could look up some of his posts too. I miss

him.

> Hi all, just wanted you to know that I am still communicating with Dr.

Sporogamo. He wants me to collect samples of mites so that he can confirm that I

am dealing with the red bird mite, no other kind. This is tough as I am not sure

I still have mites. But I am going to see if I can do this. I know there was a

posting from Linds? I think about the confirmation of bird mites at her place as

well as the PCO believing that up to 30% of people can host them...Wow. I spent

a couple of hours replying to posts only to discover that none of them seemed to

be going through. So I am sorry about that. I wish I could tell you that I would

go back and repost everything, but now I am just so tired. Hopefully this post

will go through or somehow, all my other postings will magically appear.

> But, if anyone has examples of mites they can capture, perhaps we can somehow

get a picture or something as proof of the mite. Then we will need to work on

the fungus. But, just wanted you to know I am still pursuing all of this.

> And got a call from my Vet today. He was very excited to read the two articles

I sent him about Bartonella in dogs. He did not know much about it. But he

immediately contacted a professor at Washington State University to discover

more. In the meantime, he is now convinced that the wound on my dog's neck is

the result of a necrotic bite from ??? ...He thinks maybe a tick, but is no

longer ruling out a mite bite. He is prescribing additional abx for her as well

as my other dog and is trying to find out how much the testing will cost. He now

believes both my dogs have Lyme and Bart.

been lost.

> I am heading back home for a couple of days this weekend. Would have gone

sooner, but it is getting close to my daughter's wedding and I am trying to do

things with her, like going to her gown fitting today and picking out shoes. I

can't do this stuff when I am at home because I am always so scared I am going

to transfer mites to her. Plus I always feel so dirty and itchy. But I have to

face the music sooner or later, so this weekend is the " sooner " ...will keep you

posted as much as I can.

>

> Sure am hoping to see if they have all gone away, but in my heart, I know they

haven't. I only spend a couple of hours inside the house and I start to itch. My

good friend now thinks this problem is all in my head. He told me that he

thought I was just making it all up. Boy did that hurt!
