Hi Kajay!

Both glad you found out what your diagnosis is!, but of course sorry that you have Borrelia/Lyme.

What is the DNA test that you have gotten? Is that the Igenix?

Take care!Cecilia

Wow Kajay, I'm happy you got a diagnosis girl! But, so sorry you have a positive for Lyme. Is it better to know? Yes, it is, even if the news is bad. Almost everyone with Morgellons has Lyme Disease, if not all. I'd still go see the Mobile doctor because there are things a LLMD knows that even a good local doc would not know. You will know along the road which makes most sense to continue with. I had someone recently say that eventually most of our LLMDs become our GPs, just because so many of our issues are Lyme and coinfection related. But actually for me, my local doc covers some issues, but not the Lyme issue and things related to coinfections. Local docs can get it ALL wrong in my not so humble opinion.

You have real guts Kajay. I really admire you and your spunk! Just keep doing what your good intuition tells you is the road to take. We, as women, must learn to more and more trust the inner voice that tells us what we need to do next.

I have just been diagnosed with Lyme by an Army doc. Turns out he didn't give me the old halfway test at all like I thought he did.

He gave me the DNA test - I'm having trouble reading this to know what to tell you - in bold it says

Borrelia burgdorferi DNA BLOOD

Lyme Disease Ab IgG+lgM WB

Borrelia burgdorferi Ab lgG NEGATIVE

Borrelia burgdorferi 18kD Ab NON-REACTIVE

Borrelia burgdorferi 23Kd Ab NON-REACTIVE

Borrelia burgdorferi 28Kd Ab NON-REACTIVE

Borrelia burgdorferi 30Kd Ab NON-REACTIVE

Borrelia burgdorferi 39Kd Ab NON-REACTIVE

Borrelia burgdorferi 41Kd Ab REACTIVE

Borrelia burgdorferi 45Kd Ab NON-REACTIVE

Borrelia burgdorferi 58Kd Ab NON-REACTIVE

Borrelia burgdorferi 66Kd Ab NON-REACTIVE

Borrelia burgdorferi 93Kd Ab NON-REACTIVE

Borrelia burgdorferi Ab lGm NEGATIVE

Borrelia burgdorferi 23Kd Ab lGm NON-REACTIVE

Borrelia burgdorferi 39Kd Ab lGm NON-REACTIVE

Borrelia burgdorferi 41Kd Ab lGm NON-REACTIVE

Army doc said he had planned to give me Doxy a month at the time but figured it would take a year or more given how long I have probably had Lyme (1988). I told him I had found a Lyme literate doc out of state and asked what he thought about coordinating my care between the two to maximize the cost savings of using the post hospital plus the medical advantage of working with an LLMD.He said the minocycline is a good choice and I think I can go see him to monitor treatment, and go see the Mobile doc if needed. Of course the Mobile doc might nix that. Advice?Kajay
