I wash the air matress by defalting , rollup ,sruff in5 gal bicket & 1/2 cup Arm

reinflate w/ a hair dryer on coolshot in 90 seconds .

Terry82, I bought a twin blow-up mattress at the camping store cause I could get a tall one and then bought sheets and a thin comforter. All of these go in the wash and then soak in Lysol Complete Clean before drying. The little travel pillows are great as you can wash them for a while and you can keep lots on hand in case you want to toss one.Sally From: TerryL <Terry8287@...> bird mites Sent: Sunday, July 22, 2012 12:13 AM Subject: Question about blankets and bedding with mite infestation

Hello,

I have been following this group for quite a while and just recently subscribed to it. I think I may have mite issues. I had that at my old house, but broke my wrist and now I am friends house and it seems I've brought them here. I have specks in the bed, crawling and stings. My question is what kind of blanket/bed covers will stand up the rigorous washing in hot water and dryer that has to be done as part of the protocol? Thank you so much.

TerryL,I know Bill answered this post very well, but I'll add to what he said. Even though I don't believe we have any mites I still occasionally use ammonia AND Arm and Hammer soap together in my wash. For blankets - I have a very tightly woven synthetic blanket that is fairly thin - I wash it often, maybe once a week along with sheets. I only wash my sheets once a week, but at the beginning of this 4 years ago I washed sheets daily. It is not necessary now. But when drying everything I put my clothes on a 70 minute dry cycle that gets very hot. Sorry to hear you broke your wrist too. I still have specks... I bought that blanket at Costco, but not sure if they have those particular ones any more. I had gotten rid of anything with feathers and use pillow and mattress protectors now. I purchased those at Walmart. They don't last forever, but eventually wear out. I put duct tape over the zipper to seal out a possibility that mites could travel through the plastic zipper. Early on in this infestation I could not put my feet down when sitting in a chair or put my hands down on tables without getting a bite. That has all changed over time, so it tells me that this does get better, much better. From: Goldstein@...To: bird mites Sent: Sunday, July 22, 2012 8:14:11 AMSubject: Re: Question about blankets and bedding with mite infestation
