Dear Forum,

It is indeed amazing to see the kind of spontaneous dedication and commitment

with which Dr. Ashok Rau and his organization The Freedom Foundation work. I am

truly in awe of this man.

I do hope all his efforts are amply rewarded by the people of India especially

the community of people living with HIV/AIDS.

I am aware that Dr. Rau in his own way was instrumental in advocating for

setting up positive peoples network in the early 90’s and was keen to see INP+

take shape. I also know that he is perhaps one of the strongest advocates of

positive networks in India

I am a bit disappointed that on the issue raised by Mr. Haill of the

Australian Aids Fund, none of the positive networks responded, not even INP +. I

think these are issues that should be addressed by INP+ .

It is indeed gratifying to note that people and organizations in Australia

should be so concerned that and his organization were willing to offer

funds to address this issue, but on another level can we not as a concerned

civil society in India be willing to address these issues on our own?
