Guest guest
Hi Norman, I believe most doctors keep a very close watch on situations where a strong medication dosage is being altered. I was sent out with no inkling this might need to be done. I was in Alaska at the time. The doctors in CA where I eventually had to be taken seemed surprised that the Amio had been stopped in this manner with the history I had with arrhythmia complications. It seems logical to me that it might be necessary to monitor the " unloading " of this drug in much the same manner it is loaded. Probably after all these years there are some meds out that can be used in place of Amiodarone and that differences in patients and treatment vary. Perhaps your doctor feels there is something better suited to you. Nonetheless, be sure to discuss the conditions thoroughly with your physician/electrophysiologist. I didn't and learned quickly that I certainly should have. Keep in touch and let us hear about your progress. Sue
