Is the pump still going mad?

you might try pushing in 5cc at a time over an hour - we had to do that

with one of Andy's med s- a pain in the rump but it worked!

I went into my b3droom (Andy till sleep with me) and looked - the pump we

have now (and believe it or not the beep is MORE annoying tan the

kangaroo one) is a Flexi Flo Companion. Andy has worked

his way up to 25ml per hour - still very slow, but if it's any faster he

usually throws up and when I am lazy or tired and try to give him his

30cc of med too fat I get them right back =o) so I understand

completely... Do you ever give some ice on hi lips or anything

oral? Andy ha been having a good spell lately o we are trying about 5cc

of applesauce each night - it seem like so little but we just whoop and

celebrate! LoL

Hope you get some sleep. I am having problem with med myself tonight - so

I should be going to bed... but can't sleep.

see ya in the morning!

Hi Janalise!

Just thought that I would dash off a quick reply while I'm waiting

for

the men in white coats to come and take me away....LOL

The medicine itself could go in the med port in Matty's tube, but

the

sheer volume of it makes that impossible. He gets 40cc of this med

in

his formula (that's more than an ounce) and his pump only runs at

20cc

an hour (he has severe malabsorption, delayed stomach emptying, and

a

very low volume tolerance), so I can't just put the med into his

stomach. Wish I could!!! LOL

The formula itself is already very watery...It's not one of the

thick,

milky kinds like pediasure or peptamin. It's still just an infant

formula, although a very basic and broken down one!!

Thanks for the ideas, anyway. Nice to know that I'm not the only

night

owl around here!! LOL

BTW, do you use the Zevex pump?? That's the one that I've heard good

things about! :-)
