Guest guest
Hi all, I am new to this group. I had my defib put in last May 25th. I just started taking Cororone yesterday due to an increase in PVC's and associated angina. What should I expect? Guest guest
During the loading phase of Cordarone 800MG I felt sick to my stomach, knots if I didn't keep food intake up. Sleepless and very anxious, cantankerous. After being reduced to the maintenance level ( 200MG) some of the stomach stuff quit. It took several months for all the symptoms to abate (April to September). Now don't seem to notice. Thought Lopressor caused some problems but after quitting and starting again have been feeling fine. Residue has built up in the eye, minimal. Recommend eye check yearly, can cause a halo effect around bright lights. This doesn't seem to bother me. Have not had a zap or non sustained VT since taking the drug. Good Luck and Good Health Mel E-group home: http://www.eGroups.com/list/
Guest guest
Hi Pete, I took Amiodarone for about year and during that time my heart was very well behaved. Unfortunately I ran the gamut of side effects. I had to stop driving after dark because of the intensity of the halos, I suffered from photosensitivity and developed rash and sores over my arms and hands (areas that would be exposed to sun), it also made me feel like I had the flu (lethargic, sore muscles, achy, etc.) and eventually my electrolytes became unbalanced so they took me off the drug. I honestly felt like I had been given a reprieve, I explained the med to my cardiologist as a vacuum constantly trying to suck my life and soul out of me and I was always fighting to retain a part of myself. Needless to say, it was a wonderful antiarrhythmic for me, but the side effects outweighed the benefit. However, please understand I am extremely sensitive to all meds and tend to synthesize meds more intensely than most. They had me down to 100 mg. Amio a day and I was still having side effects. I have probably taken every antiarrhythmic on the market and none controlled my arrhythmias like Amio. I am now on Ethmozine which has fewer side effects, but I have a lot more breakthroughs and still end up in a bigiminy rhythm with couplets and triplets when I get too tired. Good luck with the Amio and hope you have a very blessed Christmas. in SC ------------------------------------------------------------------------ E-group home: http://www.eGroups.com/list/
