Guest guest
To all who have written, and those ready to, on this subject: My MD explained that when the flow of blood to the brain is interrupted, or altered due to the use of a heart-lung machine during CABG or similar surgery, a loss of memory almost always occurs. I have had the occasion to explain this to those with whom I am acquainted that have had surgery or heart stoppage. In my case, after a 5x CABG following a minor MI, I intended to catch up on my technical reading while recuperating. Wrong - I couldn't follow the text at all for several weeks, nor understand or remember what I read. The memory did come back in time, though, and after 14 years is about as good as it was before. Hang in there, folks. It will get better in time. Harold
