Congratulations to Western States Chiropractic College! Dr Dallas

informed me that Western States Chiropractic College will endorse

Eugene's proposed Clean Air ordinance. The proposed Eugene Clean Air

ordinance is modeled after Corvallis's ordinance. Once enacted the

ordinance will protect workers by banning smoking from any place where

more the two people work. The ordinance also places more restrictions on

youth access to tobacco products. Hopefully the flow of " Replacement

Smokers " , a tobacco industry term, will be curtailed.

Last year 53,000 Americans died from second hand smoke. As Eugene and

other cities enact ordinances to deal with this epidemic, second hand

smoke will rapidly drop from the third leading cause of preventable death

in America.
