to give the project a flying start. We are looking for a tieup with NGOs and

individuals to take project forward across India. In anticipation.

HIV / AIDS AWARENESS PROGRAM FOR INDIA:

In India there are about 5 Million Truck & Lorry Drivers and equal number of

Truck & Lorry Cleaners. The nature of their job requires them to move on

highways and stay away from their home for months

together. To cater the needs of these drivers & cleaners, a number of

Brothels and Red Light Areas have mushroomed in the areas around the

highways. Unaware of the health hazards associated with multiple partners, they

frequent these Red Light Areas and fall prey to HIV / AIDS and other STDs.

Understanding the need and importance of HIV / AIDS awareness & information

regarding other STDs, we have conceptualized a project on the lines of our other

ongoing project 'eHealth-Care' for the Rural health.

We seek Space and permission for setting up a 'eHealth-Care' project

infrastructure at the Gas filling Stations premises located along the side of

Highways.

The One Step Anti-HIV (1+2) Antigen Test (whole blood/serum)

Cassettes, Reagent Solutions, Computer Hardware & Peripherals,

Software, Salaries to the Doctors & Assistants, Stationery and other

Operational Cost / expenses shall be done from Funded Amount. The Utility bills,

Space Rent (if any), Paper & Lamination can be paid out of the transaction

amount. Cent % of Transaction amount can be kept back by these Health Centres

for the sustenance of the project or as mutually agreed.

The doctors and his assistant will be responsible to aware the Drivers and

cleaners about the AIDS / HIV, other STDs and Safe

Sex. The doctors will convince the drivers & cleaners to give blood / serum

samples for their benefits. As the project will run on Internet based

technology, the drivers and cleaners can get their reports and further guidance

from any of the eHealth-Care Kiosk at Gas Filling Station after a stipulated

time period. If found positive, they will be advised to consult the nearest

hospital at their destination. A Health Card shall be issued to them to

keep the regular health check up. A unique User Id and

Password shall protect Drivers and Cleaners medical data, so that no

unauthorized person views it.

The same infrastructure, which is near to brothel, can be used for

appraising the Sex workers also and keeping the track of their Health. The

villagers can also throng in large number for taking

the benefit of the service. First Aid to the Highway Accident victims can be

provided.

The Donors and Government at any time can monitor and know the status of the

project from sitting in their respective office.

How many people have been apprised about the program? And like wise.

In India, most of the Truck & Lorry Drivers and Cleaners are illiterate. Thus,

we plan to give them Audio Cassettes in their native languages i:e, in (Hindi,

Punjabi, Haryanvi, Bhojpuri, Telugu, Kannad, Bengali, Oriya, etc). The audio

cassettes will contain AIDS / HIV & Safe Sex awareness skit {information

narrated dramatically} in regional languages {as mentioned above} folk songs.

Awareness will created at Transport Companies:

Requesting them to ask the Truck & Lorry Drivers and Cleaners to visit the Gas

Station where they find ‘eHealth-Care’ hoarding for a health check up.

Awareness stickers will be pasted on the Trucks & Lorries, which will confirms

that the Drivers & Cleaners as mentioned above has gone through the One Step

Anti-HIV (1+2) Antigen Test. If, Government of India participates then ‘Nirodh’

condoms will be

provided for free to Drivers & Cleaners. The project will commence the date we

receive the funding.
