Guest guest
New Member Hi. My name is Amy Antler and I am delighted to be a new member of this group. I live in Loudoun County, Virginia and I met Casten at a dinner last year. After a brief conversation about my son Corey, 6 years old with DS, she posted a message for me. My son has very low muscle tone and I was looking for families that had experienced some of the same issues I had. I received many wonderful responses from this group. I apologize that I did not respond to all of them. I have a toddler, who at the time was not sleeping through the night. She now has the hang of it. Now that I have a bit more energy, I am looking forward to being involved in this group. I am mostly a stay-at-home mom to my three children. I am a pediatric speech-language pathologist and have been practicing for ten years. I have my own practice and do home based therapy one afternoon a week. I also volunteer as a parent-to-parent coordinator for our regional DS group, PODS (Parents of Children with Down Syndrome). I have loved doing this. Despite all of my contact with clients and members of our regional group, I have experiences regarding my son's health and development that are not common. This gets a little lonely. From the responses I got last year, it seems as though I'm not alone. I'm looking forward to re-establishing contact with some of you and finding new friends who might have some advice and support.
