Priliminary Announcement:

Invitation to participate in an e_ discussion on National AIDS

Control Programme Phase III (NACP III)

Effective community consultation is a key part of the policy-

making process. Policy dialogs facilitates better policy

developments and sets better agenda for public services. We

understand that the consultation process on the World Bank supported

National AIDS control Programme Phase III (NACP III) is in the

design stages.

All the concerned agencies must ensure that the process of

consultation is transparent, broad based, less burdensome and

easier for people to engage with.

As part of the national dialogue on the goals and objectives of NACP

III, AIDS INDIA e FORUM and INP+ will be facilitating an e Discussion on NACP

III.

This e discussion is sponsored by INP +. The respresentatives of INP+ will

present the report of the discussion at appropriate forums.

The objective of the E-discussion is to engage a wide range of

stakeholders from various professional and geographical backgrounds

and solicit their expertise and opinions on NACP III, in order to

identify key objectives, opportunities, constraints, and priorities

for action.

1. What are the specific goals and objectives of NACP III

2. How NACP III is synchronised with the MDG6 ?

3. How NACP III will be synchronised with goals of Common Minimum

Plan of the GoI?

4. What specific steps NACP III is proposing to reduce the impact of

HIV & AIDS in India?

5. What lessons have learned from NACP II & I?

6. What are the key issues of governance of NACP III

AIDS INDIA e FORUM is an electronic forum for information and

communication on HIV and AIDS related issues in India. On a daily

basis, more than 3,000 key stakeholders are using this forum to keep

in touch with HIV and AIDS related issues in India.

The ideas and views presented during the e-discussion will

summarised and present in appropriate forums. They will also be

collected in a final report, which will be made available on the

AIDS INDIA e FORUM.
