Guest guest
A young boy had just gotten his driving permit. He asked hisfather, who was a minister, if they could discuss his use ofthe car. His father said to him, "I'll make a deal with you.You bring your grades up, study the bible a little, and getyour hair cut; then we'll talk about it."A month later the boy came back and again asked his father ifhe could use the car. His father said, "Son, I'm really proudof you. You brought your grades up, studied the bible well, but you didn't get your hair cut!"The young man waited a moment and then replied, "You know dad,I've been thinking about that. Samson had long hair, Moses hadlong hair, Noah had long hair, and even Jesus had long hair."His father replied, "Yes son, and they walked everywhere theywent." Guest guest
oh boy, the things i havent thought of yet that we will probably have to deal with in the future! sharon Driving Permit My dd passed the test & received her driver's permit yesterday (oh my!!). I'm wondering if any kids out there had difficulties learning to drive because of their OCD. My daughter is looking for a lot reassurance while she's driving - which I guess to a certain extent is normal for a new driver (trying to remember 2 years ago with my son.... ), but as we had a close call driving by a parked trailer while another car was passing us coming from the opposite direction, I had her pull over & explained how, since the trailer was so large, she probably should of stopped the car to let the other car go by first - then she could have moved over more to allow more room between her & the trailer (etc etc...) She had to ask several times if she had hit the trailer - she kept asking " well, I would have heard or felt something, right? I mean, did I hit it? I didn't hear anything - wouldn't I hear something if I hit it? " It kind of made me wonder..... if the OCD is going to cause a big problem with her learning to drive & being comfortable on the road. It was kind of the same thing as (pre-meds) her fear of banging the car door into a car next to her in he parking lot. We went through quite a time with that - sometimes she wouldn't even open her own door for fear of hitting another car. When she did do it herself, she had to check & recheck & run her hand down the side of the door to be sure she didn't dent it. Of course, we have decreased the meds from 50 to 40mg (prozac). Maybe that is causing it. LT

Guest guest
" I mean, people sneeze & drive too. In some cases I would think tics are no more distracting that something like that. Are his tics really bad? " Yes his tics are really bad, and they are all day - he has full body tics. And I would be concerned if he drives when they are waxing....... If his tics were like a sneeze that would be fine but no such luck Cheers Jaxx
